What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors
The IT Support Technician is responsible for ensuring continuity of computer system services for computer users by providing the technical expertise and assistance necessary to install computer software, modify/repair hardware, and resolve technical problems. They will also employ and manage additional systems to assist with the deployment of software and hardware to computer users. Other members of the Information Technology team may request their assistance with projects and tasks where appropriate. Additional responsibilities and tasks may be assigned based on technical ability and schedule availability.

Your Responsibilities

End-User Support

  • Field incoming service desk requests from users via ticketing system, email, telephone, and in-person in a timely, courteous manner.
  • Troubleshoot, install, and upgrade end-user software and hardware.
  • Provide one-on-one end-user training on relevant topics and systems on an as-needed basis.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot file sharing systems for use with external users and organizations.
  • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding within the scope of assigned duties.

Hardware & Software Management

  • Image, configure, and set up desktop and laptop computers and associated peripherals at employee workstations.
  • Coordinate shipping and reclamation of computer hardware to and from remote offices.
  • Maintain proper documentation and storage of deployed and available hardware assets.

Knowledge Management & Miscellaneous

  • Maintain user-focused informational articles covering relevant technology topics.
  • Maintain team-focused documentation on recurrent issues and known solutions.
  • Provide guidance and training to other Information Technology team members when requested or required.
  • Assist with company-wide software rollouts and technology upgrades.
  • Provide on-site support at remote offices and outside of regular working hours as required.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of equivalent work experience in an IT support role or active enrollment in a relevant degree program.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and mobile devices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 10 / 11 & Microsoft Office 365.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possesses talents and strengths in communication, conflict resolution, user education, problem solving, and self-education that allows them to excel in developing and maintaining strong relationships with staff and team members.
  • Working knowledge of modern enterprise computer hardware and software.
  • Ability to lift and carry devices and equipment of varying sizes and weights.
  • One to two years of experience in a relevant industry role or two years of active enrollment in a relevant degree or certification program is preferred but not required.
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or an equivalent field of study is preferred but not required.
  • Relevant industry certifications are beneficial but not required.
