Job description

In 2023, TechGen and Aligned Technology Solutions, both award-winning Managed IT Service Providers, merged forming the premier company of Teal. Teal is an advanced IT services that assists small- to medium-sized organizations in strategically leveraging their technology. With roots dating back to 2000, the company differentiates itself from its competition through world-class concierge service, business-focused support, and sophisticated cybersecurity and compliance knowledge. Our employees are empowered to explore their creativity, pursue their passions, and achieve personal growth through their work experience with us. Teal is committed to fostering an environment in the workplace that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusivity - where all employees are valued, respected, and provided with equal opportunities.

We are looking for an individual who:

  • Loves helping people
  • Is committed to excellence
  • Is forward thinking

Job Overview: We are looking for an onsite mid-level IT Project Manager to join our team at our headquarters in Minneapolis, MN. In this role, you will take full ownership of our project pipeline. You will serve as the face of our project delivery team, bridging the gap between local client stakeholders and our internal engineering teams.

This role requires a unique balance: you know the core fundamentals of excellent project management, but you also know how to throw out the heavy, corporate enterprise playbook. Our SMB clients need clarity, speed, and business value, not 50-page documentation packages. You will keep projects on time and within scope by deploying practical, flexible PM practices utilizing ConnectWise and Moovila to drive efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute Core PM Fundamentals: Establish and maintain realistic project schedules, scope definitions, resource allocation, and budget tracking without over-complicating the process.
  • Manage the Tool Stack: Utilize Moovila for advanced project modeling and critical path monitoring, while aligning resource scheduling with ConnectWise PSA.
  • Bridge Client & Technical Teams: Act as the primary point of contact for our SMB clients during technical rollouts. Translate technical milestones into clear, business-friendly status updates.
  • Manage Resource Utilization: Coordinate daily with our engineering and support teams to schedule project tasks, ensuring technical resources are maximized without burning out the team.
  • Drive MSP Projects to Completion: Lead the deployment of standard MSP projects, including cloud migrations, network refreshes, server rollouts, and cybersecurity upgrades.
  • Adapt and Pivot: Thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment where priorities can shift quickly based on client needs and emergency support escalations.

What We Are Looking For

  • Location: Must be based in or willing to commute daily to our Minneapolis, MN office.
  • Experience: 3 to 4 years of experience managing IT or technical infrastructure projects. Past experience working within an MSP or a fast-paced technology services company is a major plus.
  • Platform Expertise: Direct experience with ConnectWise PSA and automated project management tools like Moovila is desirable.
  • Certifications: PMP or CAPM certifications are highly preferred to show you know the core disciplines of the trade.
  • Mindset: An entrepreneurial spirit. You see a process gap and you fix it; you do not wait for a corporate directive or an enterprise committee to approve your workflow.
  • Methodology: A pragmatic approach to project management. You know how to scope a project effectively using lightweight tools rather than heavy, enterprise-grade frameworks.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication. You can confidently manage an untechnical SMB business owner's expectations while keeping technical engineers aligned.

What We Offer

  • The autonomy to shape and refine our internal project management delivery process.
  • Direct access to leadership and absolute visibility into the business impact of your work.
  • A tight-knit, collaborative team environment free from corporate politics.
  • Competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for professional growth.

The above is intended to describe the general content and requirements for the performance for this position. It is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities or requirements.
