Overview
The IT Operations Manager oversees CB&I's technology infrastructure and day-to-day IT support, acting as a bridge between technical teams and business goals. The incumbent ensures that systems, networks, and software run reliably, and manage IT staff to resolve technical issues and maintain cybersecurity. The IT Operations Manager works directly with the business driving productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction across the organization.
This position is a manager role. The role directly reports to the Sr. Director, IT Operations and routinely interacts with Global IT, Global Business Leads, Global Function Leads, Global Operations, and project management.
Responsibilities
  • Oversees the IT support team to ensure quick resolution of user issues.
  • Monitors computer networks and servers to prevent or minimize downtime.
  • Plans and executes updates for outdated hardware and software
  • Negotiates contracts and evaluates performance with third-party tech vendors.
  • Tracks IT expenses and manages the procurement of technology assets.
  • Matches IT capabilities with the company's long-term business objectives.
  • Translates executive goals into documented processes for the IT team.
  • Develop metrics to evaluate the success and speed of IT services.
  • Manage a staff of local IT technology professionals, hire and train new staff, conduct performance reviews, and provide leadership and coaching, including technical and personal development programs for team members.
  • Proactively communicate with the business function/division and support the leadership team, including leading a rich dialogue on I.T. service performance, spending and priorities.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the Enterprise, seeking opportunities to apply IT knowledge, skills, products, and services to improve business processes and the end user experience.
  • Inform business function/division leaders on the state of their team's satisfaction and feedback/suggestions to the IT organization on how to improve the satisfaction
  • Responsible for staying abreast of business issues and industry trends to anticipate impacts of technology changes on the workforce and business.
  • Ensure effective governance throughout the enterprise project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate service transition to operations for the business functions/divisions, including participation in testing activities, service negotiation tasks and other appropriate change management activities.
  • Facilitate the I.T. Planning & Governance process by ensuring the business functions/divisions awareness and participation.
  • Assist the business functions/divisions to ensure critical change management tasks are accomplished.
  • Coordinate with other groups within the IT organization to ensure all relevant considerations are communicated to the appropriate business function/division stakeholders.
  • Prepare cost-benefit analyses for projects and assist business stakeholders in prioritizing projects.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 15+ years of progressive Information Technology experience
  • 7+ years of experience working in an IT leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects through full life cycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the prioritization of multiple strategic objectives
  • Demonstrated experience with organizational change management
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings.
  • Proven experience leading presentations, training courses, and effective meetings.
  • Proven experience in managing complex solutions portfolios including both business and operational solutions.
  • Proven experience with creating and managing outsourced relationships, both domestic and global.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships.
  • Experience successfully engaging and managing contract resources.
  • Experience developing and maintaining policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
  • Experience in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry a plus.
  • ITIL 4 certification preferred.
