Description:

We are ERock!

ERock is a leader and innovator in distributed energy. ERock has responded to long-term trends in electricity by becoming the first smart-grid supplier to US energy consumers. The company installs, operates, and integrates its highly flexible, low-cost, and quick-response distributed generation to increase reliability and stability, reduce costs and decrease carbon footprint.

At ERock, our backup generators ensure that customers will never be without power, allowing their business to operate normally when there is an outage in the area. Our innovative approach provides customers with highly reliable, ultra-clean backup generation at a fraction of the cost of traditional backup solutions. We seek those who share our commitment to customer service, innovation, and ingenuity.

Position Summary:

The General Manager will serve as the operational leader for the Houston site and will be responsible for building scalable manufacturing processes, improving throughput, strengthening accountability, and developing a strong production culture capable of supporting the companyโ€™s continued growth. This individual must be comfortable balancing tactical execution with longer-term operational planning and process improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will bring a strong manufacturing background with the ability to lead from the floor, solve problems in real time, support supervisors and frontline teams, and drive operational results through direct involvement and visible leadership presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of ERockโ€™s Houston manufacturing and production facility.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor, working directly with supervisors, leads, and technicians to drive execution, accountability, safety, and productivity.
  • Oversee fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, scheduling, and manufacturing support activities.
  • Monitor production schedules, staffing needs, workflow bottlenecks, and operational priorities to ensure on-time delivery and efficient execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, throughput, labor efficiency, and production reliability.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, and Quality teams to resolve operational issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and implement practical process improvements that support scalable and repeatable production operations.
  • Coach and develop supervisors and frontline production leadership while building a strong culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational discipline.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards across all manufacturing activities.
  • Support hiring, workforce planning, employee development, and performance management for manufacturing teams.
  • Track and manage operational metrics including productivity, quality, scrap, rework, labor utilization, and delivery performance.
  • Assist leadership with operational planning, capacity discussions, budgeting, and facility growth initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary operational leader for the Houston manufacturing site and provide hands-on support during periods of high production demand or operational escalation.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Industrial Technology, or related discipline preferred; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will also be considered.
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing, production, or operations experience within industrial, power systems, energy, electrical equipment, fabrication, or heavy manufacturing environments.
  • Minimum 3โ€“5 years of leadership experience managing production, manufacturing, or plant operations teams.
  • Proven ability to lead hands-on manufacturing teams in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong floor leadership presence with the ability to work closely with supervisors, technicians, and production personnel on daily operational execution.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, production scheduling, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success improving safety, quality, throughput, productivity, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills.
  • Ability to balance tactical day-to-day operational leadership with longer-term operational planning and process improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations in high-growth or rapidly scaling environments.
  • Prior experience in a Site Manager, Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager, or General Manager role.
  • Experience working within power generation, generator packaging, reciprocating engines, oil & gas equipment, or related industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing KPI reporting, labor utilization tracking, and operational budget management.
