Job description

Position: Information Technology Manager

Status: Exempt

Location: St. Louis Park, MN

Department: Information Technology

Reports To: VP/Technology

Position Summary: The IT Manager will ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer software systems and network connections. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all network software and communication links. The person will also analyze and resolve end user software programs and connectivity issues in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training and support where required.

This role is based at the Taco John’s Support Center in St. Louis Park, MN (on-site Tuesday–Thursday; remote options Mondays and Fridays). The base salary range is $100,000–$125,000 annually, with a potential bonus opportunity. Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications and overall fit for the position.

Responsibilities:

Infrastructure & Systems Administration

  • Administer and maintain operating systems, servers, software applications, and related technologies.
  • Manage network infrastructure, including local area networks (LANs), internet connectivity, intranet resources, and company websites.
  • Ensure the integrity, availability, and performance of servers, databases, and data transfer systems.
  • Manage and support telecommunications systems, including VoIP and cellular service plans.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot workstations, printers, messaging platforms, and other end-user devices.
  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements to optimize reliability and efficiency.
  • Recommend, schedule, and implement software upgrades, patches, and technology enhancements.

Security & Compliance

  • Deploy and maintain firewalls, security solutions, encryption technologies, and system security controls.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Conduct network and security audits.
  • Perform system backups and support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security requirements.

Strategic & Operational Support

  • Analyze system utilization and plan for future growth and capacity needs.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, software, and services.
  • Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, technical documentation, and user training materials.
  • Maintain technology asset inventories and system documentation.
  • Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and service providers to support business needs and technology initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree, college diploma, or university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of systems administration, network administration, or IT infrastructure experience.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications and services.
  • Experience administering Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments.
  • Experience managing network infrastructure, servers, and end-user technologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Experience administering user access, permissions, and security controls.
  • Strong understanding of system backups and disaster recovery processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Experience with firewall administration, cybersecurity tools, and encryption technologies.
  • Experience managing databases and data integrations.
  • Experience with vendor management and technology procurement.
  • Experience developing IT policies, procedures, and user training programs.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations or geographically dispersed teams.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 technologies.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and LAN administration.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and infrastructure issues.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data privacy best practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong customer service orientation and commitment to supporting end users.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently.

 Work Environment/Physical Activities:

  • Standard Requirement: Frequently necessitates lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 20 to 25 lbs. unassisted.
  • Heavy Lifting: Occasionally, IT Managers must lift, move, or maneuver equipment that weighs up to 50 lbs.
  • Mobility: Involves periods of bending, kneeling, stretching, and reaching to install cables or maintain infrastructure.
