AVmedia Inc. is seeking an experienced Manager of IT to lead technology operations, cybersecurity, and infrastructure strategy. This role is responsible for ensuring the company's systems, support services, and security practices align with business goals and industry standards. The Manager of IT will lead IT team members, oversee day-to-day operations, and drive initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance the end-user experience. This position reports directly to the VP of Innovation, Procurement, & IT and requires a strong blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and people leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
CYBERSECURITY AND COMPLIANCE
• Identify, assess, and mitigate security vulnerabilities through proactive risk management and remediation.
• Maintain a strong cybersecurity posture by monitoring emerging threats and implementing effective prevention measures.
• Develop and enforce IT security policies, standards, and best practices to protect company assets and data.
• Ensure compliance with applicable technology, security, and client data protection requirements.
• Lead the development and maintenance of SOC 2 policies aligned with business needs and client expectations.
• Safeguard data, network access, and backup systems while supporting disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT
• Oversee the performance, maintenance, and reliability of core IT infrastructure, including networks, hardware, software, storage, and business applications.
• Plan and deliver system upgrades and new technology initiatives that support growth and scalability.
• Lead capacity planning for hardware, software, and storage resources to support operational needs.
• Monitor infrastructure performance and use metrics to improve reliability, efficiency, and service quality.
• Manage virtualization environments and production systems across multiple platforms.
• Manage software licensing, subscriptions, and user access to ensure secure and efficient technology operations.
• Oversee device procurement and provisioning for new team members, including system access, software configuration, and security setup.
• Maintain and enhance IT infrastructure while supporting business-critical systems and client-facing technology needs.
• Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory to support lifecycle planning, budgeting, and operational readiness.
IT HELP DESK OPERATIONS
• Lead the IT help desk function to ensure timely, high-quality resolution of Family Member technical issues.
• Participate and develop IT support to deliver excellent service.
• Establish service standards, response targets, and support processes that improve service delivery.
• Implement ticketing tools and support best practices that improve consistency, efficiency, and user satisfaction.
• Partner cross-functionally to support company-wide systems, tools, and technology initiatives.
• Provide senior leadership with clear updates on IT operations, risks, priorities, and performance.
• Model AVmedia's Culture, Core Values, and Core Purpose through strong leadership, collaboration, and a service-oriented approach.
• Identify opportunities to improve service quality and workflow efficiency.
Requirements
EDUCATION
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or Computer Information Systems is strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE
5+ years of progressive IT management experience with responsibility for infrastructure, operations, cybersecurity, service delivery, and team leadership. Demonstrated success leading IT teams, managing projects and budgets, and driving continuous improvement. Experience with compliance and security programs, including SOC 2, is strongly preferred.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
• Strong knowledge of networking, servers, virtualization, backups, and business continuity.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies, Active Directory, Office 365, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and IT security tools.
• Familiarity with IT service management frameworks, project delivery methods, and cybersecurity best practices, including SOC 2.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001, multi-site IT operations, distributed workforce support, and enterprise business systems such as ERP and CRM platforms is strongly preferred.
LEADERSHIP SKILLS
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to manage vendors, prioritize competing needs, and align IT strategy with business objectives.
