What you'll do: The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organization's core IT infrastructure, including servers, virtualization, networking, endpoint technologies, identity services, and enterprise security platforms. This role ensures the availability, performance, and security of critical business systems while supporting users across a global manufacturing environment.

Working closely with the Global Manager - Governance, Risk & Compliance, the IT Systems Administrator will also support cybersecurity operations through vulnerability management, endpoint security, incident response coordination, identity and access management, and the implementation of security best practices across the enterprise.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical aptitude, sound judgment, and a commitment to continuous learning while contributing to the organization's evolving infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives.

Duties / Responsibilities of this position: 

Infrastructure Administration

  • Administer, maintain, and support enterprise Windows Server infrastructure, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Manage VMware virtualization environments, including virtual machine provisioning, maintenance, and performance optimization.
  • Perform server installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure reliable operation of business-critical systems.
  • Administer and support enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.

Network Administration

  • Administer and troubleshoot enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, and remote connectivity solutions.
  • Configure and support network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, routing, and network segmentation.
  • Monitor network performance and assist in maintaining secure and highly available network services.
  • Support site deployments, infrastructure upgrades, and network modernization projects.

Cybersecurity Operations

  • Assist with the administration and support of enterprise cybersecurity technologies.
  • Coordinate with the organization's Managed Detection and Response (MDR) provider to investigate and remediate security incidents.
  • Support vulnerability management by reviewing findings, coordinating remediation efforts, and validating corrective actions.
  • Assist with endpoint protection, identity security, and implementation of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Participate in security incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
  • Participate in security hardening efforts in accordance with organizational standards and industry best practices.

Systems Monitoring & Maintenance

  • Monitor enterprise infrastructure for availability, performance, and security.
  • Perform routine maintenance, software updates, firmware upgrades, and system health checks.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and restore services in accordance with established service levels.
  • Maintain infrastructure documentation, standard operating procedures, and system inventories.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation to improve operational efficiency. 
  • Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity incidents.
  • Participate in planned maintenance windows, infrastructure upgrades, and disaster recovery exercises outside of normal business hours as required.

Job Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in Systems Administration, Network Administration, or IT Infrastructure support.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Windows Server environments.

  • Experience working within Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
