Job Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY:
Magna is looking for a Systems Administrator to Manage new and existing enterprise business systems. The ideal candidate would have a passion for learning new business systems and technology in a fast-paced environment with experience with SQL and supporting manufacturing environments. Within the plant IT/OT operating model, this role functions as the Managing site authority for IT and OT cybersecurity execution and IT infrastructure reliability, operating as a peer to the Lead Controls Engineer and reporting directly to the General Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manages Windows the Systems environment and performs Operating System and patch testing on all changes prior to installation.
2. Manages application system by enforcing policies, defining, and monitoring access.
3. Reporting application operational status by gathering application metrics into quarterly reviews per business.
4. Maintain, support, implement, upgrade, and deploy critical databases and applications to meet business requirements.
5. Manages and directs IT operational resources, including the IT Operations Technician, and governs day to day IT and OT cybersecurity execution within the plant, aligned to the IT/OT operating model.
6. Monitor, analyze and measure database performance and storage needs.
7. Manges development, implementation, and maintains change control and testing process for modifications to databases.
8. Monitors and reviews system logs and detects and troubleshoots problems.
9. Writes basic technical operating system documentation.
10. Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords.
11. Supports, sets up, images, and prepares computers for users, supports both phones and computers for all employees of the division.
12. Ensures the proper day-to-day operations of internal applications and peripheral equipment.
13. Responds to critical IT emergencies after regular work hours as needed.
14. Manage and maintain confidentiality and uphold Magna business ethics.
15. Responsible for overseeing, securing, and continuously improving the technology ecosystem that supports both corporate IT systems and plant-floor Operational Technology (OT) with an automotive manufacturing environment.
16. This role serves as the primary technical Manager for site-wide IT infrastructure, system reliability, and cybersecurity practices.
17. Ensures that critical manufacturing systems remain stable, secure and aligned with business and production goals.
18. This position acts as a bridge between production operations, engineering, and corporate IT/security teams - providing hands on expertise, strategic guidance, and cross-functional coordination. The role is essential for protecting manufacturing assets from cyber threats, reducing downtime, and driving continuous improvement of IT and OT technology landscapes.
ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Executes basic PowerShell or Command Shell commands.
2. Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, installation, and support of all IT systems, including telecommunications, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, printers and office automation equipment.
3. Executes cybersecurity and IT controls in a manner that respects OT safety, uptime, and production constraints; does not unilaterally implement changes impacting OT systems without alignment with Controls Engineering leadership.
4. Investigate and diagnose network problems, monitor network performance, test for weaknesses, collect statistics and make recommendations for improving software, hardware, upgrades, patches, re-configurations and/or purchases the company's IT systems and carrying out routine configuration and installation of IT solutions.
5. Assists users and information technology staff with desktop technology basic information and configurations. Performs basic troubleshooting for desktop hardware and software. Provides desktop "help desk" function. Orders and receives desktop equipment. Maintains inventory of hardware and software. Administers systems, repairs, and licensing. Diagnoses faults.
6. Supports annual IT and IT Security audits, including creating action plans, and responsibilities for remediation.
7. Analyzes the business needs of clients and stakeholders to help identify business problems and propose solutions. Performs a liaison function between the company and the Global Magna IT team. Analyzes, communicates, and validates requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems. Understands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.
8. Analyzes plant systems relating to manufacturing, finance, shop floor, barcoding, and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems).
9. Responsibilities include SQL, CRM, EDI and ERP administrator.
10. Maintains a dotted line relationship to General Manager for cybersecurity risk visibility, audit outcomes, and major exception escalation
QUALIFICATIONS:

3. Minimum of 2 years working as a system admin within a manufacturing environment/site.
4. Minimum of 2 years in Windows administration required.
5. Minimum of 2 years' experience in personal computer repair required.
6. Minimum of 2 years Management and or Leadership.
