Job description

RWE Supply & Trading Asia-Pacific Pte. Ltd.

Start date: September 2027

Location: Singapore

Application Deadline: 16 August 2026

From here, choose a whole world of experience.

Join our two-year IT Developer Graduate Programme and take part in four six-month rotations, gaining broad exposure across key business areas. Your journey starts with an initial rotation in Singapore, followed by the opportunity to complete further rotations across the APAC region or internationally, including locations such as Germany, USA and the UK. After the programme, you'll be well positioned to explore permanent opportunities across our global locations and continue developing your career within our corporate functions.

The contribution you'll make

Working in close partnership with leading technology teams and the commercial business, our IT functions drive efficiency and innovation across RWE Supply & Trading. Right from the start, you can be part of it, working alongside experienced engineers, developers, analysts and business users to build technology solutions with real impact.

Throughout the programme, you will gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of IT, contributing to systems that support energy trading, commercial operations, market data, risk and analytics. You will work with modern engineering practices and technologies including data platforms, cloud infrastructure, APIs and DevOps.

Key areas you could choose to do your rotations in include:

  • Application development, tools and automation solutions that support trading, risk and commercial decision-making
  • Embedded IT for trading desks and commercial business teams, working closely with traders, analysts and operations users across energy commodities, freight and logistics, asset optimisation, sales and origination
  • Enterprise Integration and central services, connecting applications across Front Office, Risk, Back Office and other business functions, with a focus on reliable transport-layer services and optimised systems integration
  • Data engineering and analytics platforms, including large-scale market and trading data, market data solutions, Databricks, SQL and Spark, enabling decision-making, automated trading and fundamental analysis
  • Cloud and platform engineering initiatives, including AWS, APIs, microservices, scalable integration patterns and migration of applications to cloud-based infrastructure
  • DevOps, testing, deployment, monitoring, incident resolution, automated standard service requests and continuous improvement in agile delivery teams, including squad-based projects such as "Lead in Data" and "Lead in Cloud"

Through your rotations, you will increase your IT stack and business knowledge, develop competence across a range of technologies and build a strong understanding of different working cultures. You may also have the opportunity to complete an optional rotation in a business-facing or international role, helping you build a well-rounded understanding of the organisation and its global energy trading activities.

Your profile

As well as a keen interest in the energy industry and the readiness to explore our markets and our business, you'll need:

  • A BSc, MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field
  • Programming experience in Python, C# or Java, plus a good understanding of SQL, data concepts and software engineering fundamentals
  • A passion for IT development, data engineering, cloud technologies and DevOps
  • Interest in scalable solutions using Databricks, Spark, AWS, APIs or microservices
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a commercial and analytical mindset
  • Fluent English; an Asian language would be advantageous
  • A collaborative approach with technical and business stakeholders
  • Curiosity, proactivity and a strong willingness to learn, take ownership and deliver high-quality work with reliability and integrity.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and a willingness to apply them responsibly for research, summarisation, drafting, analysis and process improvement, in line with RWE policies and responsible-use principles.
  • Flexibility and mobility to work across teams and, where required, international locations, combined with an inclusive mindset.

From here, you'll have a community of support.

You'll become part of a vibrant and diverse early careers network that extends far beyond the office you're in. You'll also have a buddy and a mentor to support you and plenty of training courses and seminars to build your knowledge. And your career path will be yours to shape, throughout the programme and beyond.

While you're on our graduate journey, we're committed to providing you with a range of opportunities to grow and develop your skills. Alongside job rotations and technical training, you'll be provided with comprehensive behavioural skills training with our expert partner, Cappfinity. This will enable you to harness your strengths from day one and identify new ways to utilise the key Skills That Build Skills. This will support you to reach your potential and goals, shaping your career path. The behavioural skills training is immersive, including interactive sessions where you can learn from our facilitators and your own peers, and self-led elements to support your application of learning back in your day-to-day role.
