Job description

IT Site Technician II

National Carwash Solutions (NCS) is one of the largest car wash equipment, parts, chemicals, and service providers in North America, founded in 1973 and headquartered in Grimes, Iowa. The Grimes campus is NCSโ€™s flagship location: our largest manufacturing facility and the home of plant operations, shipping and receiving, finance, HR, engineering, and members of our executive team.

Position Summary

NCS is seeking an experienced IT Site Technician to own day-to-day technology support at our Grimes headquarters, with plant operations as the primary customer. Grimes is NCSโ€™s largest manufacturing facility, and this roleโ€™s first responsibility is keeping production-connected technology running: plant-floor devices, warehouse systems, shipping and receiving, and the equipment returns operation. Beyond the floor, the role supports the siteโ€™s office workforce, including finance, HR, engineering, and members of the executive team, and serves as the L2 escalation point for the site. This is the most varied site role in the company, and it requires someone who prioritizes production uptime while still delivering polished support to the people who run the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support plant-floor and warehouse technology as the roleโ€™s first priority, including barcode scanners, label printers, warehouse tablets, and other production-connected devices; treat production-impacting issues as the top of the queue
  • Provide hands-on IT support to plant operations and shipping and receiving teams, including shift-start readiness for production-critical devices
  • Support the Grimes warehouse relocation (October) and provide ongoing IT support for the new, larger warehouse facility: device deployment, connectivity verification, and user support
  • Own the IT side of the Grimes equipment returns process: receive, track, wipe, and redeploy or retire returned devices, maintaining accurate asset records
  • Support NCS remote and hybrid employees: remote troubleshooting, equipment staging and shipping from the Grimes hub, and returns coordination
  • Act as the L2 escalation point for Grimes: own site tickets escalated from the NCS Service Center, document work in the ticketing system (FreshService), and coordinate with corporate domain owners on issues requiring platform or network changes
  • Participate in the major incident call tree for the Grimes site; respond to critical site outages as part of the major incident management process, including outside normal hours
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to the Grimes office workforce across finance, HR, engineering, and administrative teams: PCs (Windows 11), peripherals, printers, mobile devices, and conference room technology
  • Deliver responsive, discreet support to executive team members and their staff, including meeting and presentation support
  • Act as remote/smart hands for NCS network, server, and security teams: rack, cable, replace, and physically maintain on-site equipment under the direction of the relevant domain owner
  • Assist with site elements of corporate IT initiatives at headquarters, such as hardware refreshes, endpoint migrations, and ERP-related device rollouts
  • Maintain the Grimes site IT asset inventory, including staging and imaging of new equipment
  • Manage and maintain the site print fleet in coordination with the print domain owner
  • Travel occasionally (estimated under 10%) to support other NCS sites as needed
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of IT support experience in an environment supporting 100+ users, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Hands-on experience supporting end-user devices: Windows 11 PCs, printers, mobile devices, and conferencing/AV equipment
  • Demonstrated experience supporting senior leaders or executives with professionalism, discretion, and urgency
  • Strong organizational skills, including experience with asset tracking or inventory management
  • Basic networking fundamentals (patching, port identification, connectivity troubleshooting)
  • Strong documentation habits and experience working from a ticketing system
  • Experience supporting technology in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment where PPE is required
  • Able to prioritize effectively across competing demands, with production uptime as the standing priority
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in IT related field and/or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting ERP-connected devices (NetSuite preferred): barcode scanners, label printers, warehouse tablets
  • Experience supporting production or plant-floor systems during live manufacturing operations
  • Exposure to Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Intune-managed endpoints
  • Experience supporting HR or finance business systems as an IT liaison
  • Experience supporting a site or office relocation
  • Familiarity with print fleet management (Xerox, Canon, or Konica Minolta)
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Split environment: office/administrative areas and an active manufacturing facility; PPE (safety glasses, appropriate footwear) required on the production floor
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work at floor level or on ladders for equipment installation
  • Exposure to typical manufacturing noise levels in production areas
  • Occasional travel to other NCS sites (estimated under 10%)
Benefits & Compensationย

NCS offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and additional benefits.ย

Equal Opportunity Employerย

NCS is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
