Summary

The IT Applications Analyst provides support to ensure that the Credit Union's core system (Symitar) and associated applications are properly configured, maintained and supporting key business processes as intended. Work involves performing system administration and configuration management activities, facilitating the implementation of system upgrades and service packs, and responding to and resolving system incidents/break-fix conditions and end user requests.     


Essential Functions

20% 1. Incident/Break-fix Support - Work with FFCU stakeholders and business partners to resolve system incidents/break fix conditions in a timely manner. Perform root-cause analysis activities to prevent the reoccurrence of system failures/service outages and document identified solutions.  

20% 2. Process Monitoring and Execution - Monitor and execute IT operational processes and procedures required to facilitate ongoing operations. This includes monitoring and ensuring the successful completion of automated IT processes and executing processes/procedures that require manual intervention. Document new processes/procedures and update existing ones as required.

20% 3. System Administration Support - Perform designated IT system administration functions for the Credit Union's core (Symitar) and ancillary systems. This includes system configuration activities, parameter updates, form maintenance, maintenance of system jobs and associated job scheduler, setup and configuration of non-production application environments (ie test syms).

20% 4. Request Fulfillment and Technical Support - Provide FFCU stakeholders technical support through the fulfillment of service requests associated with Credit Union's core and ancillary systems. Service Requests must be triaged and resolved in a timely manner in accordance with established SLAs. Independent research, collaboration with cross-functional FFCU teams, interaction with FFCU business partners and the development of advanced core system skills is required. 

10% 5. Upgrade Support - Provide support to facilitate the implementation of required core and ancillary system updates. This includes executing technical procedures required for system updates and facilitating User Acceptance Testing with FFCU stakeholders.


Non-essential Functions

10% 1. Perform any other duties as requested by the VP of IT, IT Applications Manager, or other IT Team Members. Embody CU's mission, vision, and core values. Abide by First Financials policies, procedures and standards.

  1.  Perform essential functions of the position, special projects and other work assignments within timeframes and quality standards established by the VP of IT & IT Applications Manager.  
  2.  Possess the ability to work independently within deadlines and manage multiple tasks and projects.
  3.  Must demonstrate good analytical/problem solving, verbal and written communication skills. 
  4.  Must be able to multi-task and be a team player and have good time management and prioritization skills.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in related technical or business area or 5 years directly related experience.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience as an application analyst or related position in the financial services industry, preferably with credit union experience. Experience utilizing Symitar in a technical capacity.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Must have good working knowledge and understanding of the technologies and concepts supporting the essential functions of the position listed above. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Normal office conditions, but hours & days worked must be flexible based on needs of position; highly concentrated mental & visual alertness, majority of day may be spent sitting, typing & reading computer screen for extended periods, frequent up/down activity, position involves a great deal of physical activity involved w/ maintaining & working on computers.
