The Control Manager Vice President will act as the Area Product Owner, setting direction and making decisions to enhance compliance and control within the Electronic Communications Archive platform, partnering with various stakeholders to improve platform effectiveness and governance.
Responsibilities:
• Own strategy and decisions for your product area: Define multi-quarter priorities and outcomes (risk/control impact, regulatory alignment, resiliency, user needs) and drive alignment across stakeholders.
• Run the backlog end-to-end: Lead intake/triage, write high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria, maintain traceability, and keep documentation governance-ready.
• Drive delivery across releases and dependencies: Partner with Tech and delivery leads on planning, sequencing, cutovers, and change approvals; ensure UAT and control-aligned validation are executed and evidenced.
• Embed compliance- and controls-by-design: Translate regulatory and internal control requirements into requirements, test evidence, decision records, and sustained operating processes—partnering with Compliance/Controls/Audit.
• Own operational health for your scope: Monitor performance and control signals; manage escalations; drive root-cause fixes that reduce recurring operational risk.
• Lead stakeholder and governance communications: Prepare executive-ready materials for forums/steerco, surface risks/decisions early, and drive timely resolution of roadblocks.
• Drive continuous improvement through data and automation: Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, improve reporting/metrics, reduce manual effort, and increase transparency and control reliability.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 8+ years in product and/or program management roles (including Product Owner, Product Manager, Scrum Master, Agility Lead, Delivery Lead, or similar) in financial services or another highly regulated environment.
• 2+ years of direct experience working in or closely with Compliance, Controls, Risk, or Audit (e.g., control design/testing, issue management, regulatory/audit responses, control-aligned change governance).
• Demonstrated ability to own a defined product/process area (roadmap decisions, backlog priorities, release readiness) with strong discipline around stability, traceability, and control outcomes.
• Strong requirements and documentation skills: user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and decision logs suitable for governance scrutiny.
• Delivery execution strength across UAT, dependency management, and change governance—able to drive progress through ambiguity and competing priorities.
• Executive-ready communication skills: concise narratives, clear asks/decisions, and data-backed status for senior stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Jira/Confluence and standard reporting tools; comfortable working with controlled data sources/metrics to support governance.
