Job description

Position Summary:

This position is expected to be in-person, and the individual will lead the Quality Assurance and Environmental initiatives and programs, with the support of management and supporting departments. The programs include ISO9001, ISO14001, and any future standards being implemented for the SDC Group companies. The individual will support tracking and reporting of Quality issues, root cause analysis, internal auditing and many other QA duties. The individual will drive continuous improvement and support initiatives, including process optimization and 5S Lean programs. The candidate will work with the EHS manager to support initiatives for the SDC group using safety tools such as Hazard Prediction, Job Hazard Analysis and 5S audits. The individual will work with our regulatory compliance consultants to ensure SDC follows all local, state and federal requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the development and verification of SOPs through the collaboration with various departments.
  • Analyzes data using the NCCA system from batches outside of specifications to determine if quality control or other issues were cause of problem.
  • Conduct/Participate in ISO-9001 & ISO-14001 audits to ensure compliance with the ISO standards.
  • Conduct/Participate in ISO-9001 & ISO-14001 Management Review meetings
  • Manage the Non-Conformance and Corrective Action (NCCA) system and lead/participate in global NCCA team meetings
  • Prepare Monthly QA reports and support Ops report generation for senior management
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams to support quality and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation such as records and reports.
  • Participate in Job Safety Analysis, Risk Assessments, process safety risk assessments, and other EHS tools and programs
  • Reviews and updates of various safety and equipment procedures
  • Assists in performing incident investigations
  • Participate in EHS committee meetings and activities including monthly meetings with SDC’s compliance consultants.
  • Assist in developing EHS procedures for all areas of the company.
  • Conducts Equipment/Reactor troubleshooting during manufacturing and commissioning.
  • Participate in and support SDC 5S activities

  • BS in either Engineering or Chemical Engineering or related field and four to eight years of relevant experience.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced setting and prioritize assignments.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel and familiarity with computer systems used in manufacturing and warehousing.
