Job description

At Speria, we develop software, analytics, and connected technology solutions that help producers make smarter decisions across their operations. Our platforms combine IoT, real‑time operational data, mobile experiences, analytics, cloud technologies, and intelligent automation to deliver visibility, efficiency, and actionable insights at scale.

We are looking for a Senior IoT Software Engineer to help design, build, and evolve the next generation of our software platform.

This is more than a coding role. You will be a technical leader responsible for building scalable solutions, driving architectural decisions, improving platform reliability, mentoring engineers, and delivering products that solve complex real‑world challenges.

If you enjoy solving difficult technical problems, working across cloud and IoT technologies, and building software that has a measurable business impact, this could be a great opportunity for you.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior IoT Software Engineer, you will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications, mobile applications, APIs, shared libraries, and internal engineering tools.
  • Build solutions that support connected devices, telemetry processing, real‑time operational workflows, analytics, notifications, and business‑critical decision making.
  • Own the design, implementation, and long‑term evolution of key platform components and services.
  • Lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions that improve scalability, reliability, performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, UX, QA, Support, Data, and Engineering teams to deliver high‑quality customer solutions.
  • Design and implement cloud‑native applications and services using Microsoft Azure and modern software engineering practices.
  • Improve platform performance through system optimization, observability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and proactive engineering improvements.
  • Champion engineering excellence through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD practices, technical documentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in production support activities, root cause investigations, and corrective actions to maintain platform reliability and customer trust.
  • Lead implementation efforts for complex technical initiatives that span multiple systems, teams, and business domains.
  • Mentor engineers through technical coaching, design reviews, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem solving.
  • Help establish and evolve engineering standards, development practices, and architectural principles across the organization.
  • Leverage AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and similar technologies to improve engineering productivity and software quality.
  • Contribute to a culture of ownership, innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience building commercial software products.
  • Strong experience developing applications using C# and .NET tech stack.
  • Strong experience building modern web applications using TypeScript and Angular or comparable front‑end frameworks.
  • Experience designing and building cloud‑native solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience developing REST APIs and service‑oriented or distributed application architectures.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, testing strategies, performance optimization, and engineering best practices.
  • Experience with SQL Server, relational data modeling, query optimization, and data‑driven applications.
  • Experience with asynchronous processing, event‑driven systems, messaging platforms, and technologies such as NServiceBus.
  • Experience supporting and operating production software systems at scale.
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and contribute to technical leadership within a team.
  • Experience designing, developing, and supporting mobile applications using frameworks such as Flutter, Ionic, Capacitor, Xamarin/.NET MAUI, or similar technologies.
  • Experience working with IoT platforms, device integrations, telemetry solutions, or connected hardware ecosystems.
  • Experience with containers, cloud infrastructure, and modern deployment practices.
  • Exposure to AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, agentic systems, or AI‑powered product features.
  • Experience working in global B2B SaaS, AgTech, food production, logistics, supply chain, or other operational technology environments.
Why Your Work Matters
  • Build Systems That Operate at Scale
  • Solve Meaningful Engineering Challenges
  • Drive Innovation
  • Grow Your Career
