Job description

OVERVIEW: We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Water Group (Geographic Information Systems) as a IoT/GIS Analyst to work remotely, assigned to our Wilmington office. This position requires that you will work with multiple offices as needed and travel on occasion throughout the southeast. This is a highly visible role, fast paced in nature where you will provide analysis, training, and user support for various internal and external IoT/GIS clients.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Geography/GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in utility mapping, utility network, and general knowledge of utility infrastructure.
  • ARCGIS Indoors Project Experience
  • Experience with Esri desktop software (ArcMap/Pro) as well as extensions and data publishing workflows.
  • Experience working with Esri suites of products such as Portal, ArcGIS Enterprise, Enterprise Databases (ArcSDE) and ArcGIS online.
  • Ability to maintain and manage project specific spatial data.
  • Ability to perform data analysis and effectively communicate results.
  • Strong understanding of cartographic principles.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other similar software.
  • Strong listening, writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work in a telecommute environment with Team members in other locations.
  • Organized and self-motivated, able to manage multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail with ownership and accountability for quality deliverables.
  • Proven work history, strong work ethic and team-player attitude.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT:
  • Experience with data QA/QC processes from collection to final delivery.
  • GISP Certification
  • Experience with most ArcGIS Online applications such as: ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, Survey123 Connect, Web App Builder, and Operations Dashboard.
  • Knowledge of data Extraction, Translation and Load (ETL) processes; experience utilizing Python and other scripting languages to perform ETL processes.
  • Experience in Portal and/or ArcGIS Online.
  • Experience in configuring GIS web viewers.
  • 2+ years with Microsoft SQL Server or similar
  • 2+ years with python for data analysis and general programing
  • 2+ years with API interaction, pushing and pulling data for automation projects.

DURING YOUR WORK-DAY YOU WILL:
  • Provide analysis, training, and user support for various internal and external IoT/GIS clients.
  • Perform temporal data set analysis under the supervision of data staff.
  • Assist design team with system modeling and design, as needed.
  • Perform work related to development, analysis, and maintenance of spatial and tabular GIS databases.
  • Implement methodologies for creation and use of spatial/temporal data sets.
  • Provide initial quality control to ensure that data being developed meets spatial and content accuracy for desired database. as well as assist in preparation of metadata documentation.
  • Responsible for developing GIS analysis and mapping products based on user requirements.
  • Attend client meetings and interact with clients concerning specific tasks, work assignments, or contracts.
  • Publish GIS data to ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise Portal as needed.
  • Configure web mapping applications in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise Portal.
