Summary of Position (Job Purpose) - Major purpose and functions of the position.
The Manager of Inventory Management will hold a key leadership role in the day to day management of the timely flow of merchandise through the distribution network and to stores for their assigned area. In addition to helping develop plans and strategies to maximize the sales and inventory turn, the Manger will have direct responsibility over a team of Inventory Analysts. The Manager will train, develop, and mentor team members as necessary and supervise the on boarding process for all new hires to the Inventory Management department. As a primary component in the success of the Merchandising division, the Manager of Inventory Management will be participating in many cross functional teams to further develop the strategic initiatives of the organization.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Primary responsibilities listed in order of importance
  • Lead and develop a team of Allocation and Replenishment Inventory Analysts
  • Oversee and coordinate the flow of Inventory through the distribution centers
  • Provide analysis to identify business opportunities and solutions to improve the flow of merchandise to stores
  • Partner with category merchants and directors to develop seasonal allocation and event planning strategies
  • Oversee Relex sales and receipt forecast projections while maintaining store and DC instock and service level goals
  • Maintain balanced inventory levels in all DC and retail locations while improving flow through each location
  • Work with the field to respond to merchandise concerns and work with the appropriate Store Support Center associate/department to address issues

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications - Summary of knowledge, experience and education required.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in Merchandise Allocation and Replenishment
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrate a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting multiple goals and deadlines
  • Ability to work cooperatively and contribute to a high performing team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience and competency with spreadsheet, word processing, and email software functionality
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

Desired Qualifications - Desired but not required.
  • Experience with JDA, retail enterprise allocation and replenishment software
  • Supervisory experience
  • Other significant retail or operations experience
