Job description

Duties Description The intern will assist the Office Services Unit in supporting agency operations. Responsibilities may include data entry, special projects, records management, inventory control and asset tracking, print operations and fleet management activities. The intern will participate in ongoing projects designed to improve efficiency, maintain accurate records, and support statewide Office Services operations.

The intern is expected to demonstrate professionalism, reliability, attention to detail and a willingness to learn. Upon completion of the internship, the intern will gain practical experience in administration and government operations, including administrative processes, records management, inventory and fleet management, warehouse operations, print and mail services, data management, customer service and project coordination. The intern will also strengthen organizational, communication, problem-solving and time management skills while gaining exposure to the day-to-day operations of a large public sector organization.

Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Be 18 years of age or older Be actively enrolled in a New York State college, university, or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State, attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State* Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a longer period may qualify part-time students for participation in the program), or be a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or the letter grade equivalent Preferred Skill sets: Knowledge of various software, Excel, Word and project coordination.
