Purpose
Supports the Country HR Head in delivering global HR programs on-the-ground in a country. Partners with direct manager, the Communities of Expertise (CoEs), Global HR Solutions, and HRBPs to operationalize, implement and champion HR programs/campaigns/initiatives in-country, ensuring all activities are conducted in alignment with local culture, market practices and within timelines and budget. Supports Manager and Country HR Head in delivering the annual HR lifecycle of programs, including but not limited to: year-end performance cycle training, year-end compensation training, recognition events (E.g. Excellence Awards), culture and engagement events, onboarding/day 1 orientation programs, and other local, in-person programs and initiatives.
What You'll Do
  • Member of the delivery team within the Business HR team for CoE programs/campaigns/initiatives in country across all HR teams.
  • Partners with Communities of Expertise (CoEs), HRBP Community and GHR Solutions to operationalize Global HR programs, executing on country-specific tactics/solutions to meet HR program objectives.
  • Supports the manager on regional GBM and Corporate Functions programs, producing reports and creating presentations that further priorities for the HRBPs. These include U.S. region step outs to GBM and Corporate Functions HR programs, including year-end compensation, performance/potential, ScotiaPulse, and hiring initiatives (campus and full time).
  • Implements engagement activities, fostering an inclusive work environment and demonstrating our ScotiaBond behaviours, winning as one team: Results-driven, Shaping the Future, Striving for Better and Inclusive.
  • Supports the tactical delivery of the Excellence Awards, partnering with local facilities and communications to deliver local campaigns and events that align with timelines
  • Supports local onboarding/day 1 orientation programs, including but not limited to. facilities, room bookings, materials, content, facilitation, employment verification and swag inventory.

  • Partners with Communications & Corporate Affairs teams to deliver successful and relevant HR events/forums (E.g. Town Halls, Exec Visits).
  • Responsible for all incoming mail for U.S. HR, delivering to appropriate teams
  • Leverages collaboration skills to champion a client-focused culture and deepen client relationships.
  • Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture are considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably with focus on business/human resources or work-related experience.
  • Strong communications skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization. Able to collaborate with HR stakeholders and business partners and coach managers. Actively listens and seeks to understand needs with genuine curiosity.
