About Us:

Be part of something exciting at Porter Pipe & Supply! This position is based in Addison, IL, at our headquarters, where you will join a thriving team. As a member of our Inventory Team, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining our culture of customer service excellence. Our Inventory Associates are required to have experience with inventory management and strong attention to detail to support our operations. This is not a typical Warehouse Associate role.

What We’re Looking For:

• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management systems.

• Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Demonstrated basic mathematical aptitude.

• Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively.

• Excellent communication skills in English, particularly regarding essential functions.


What You’ll Do:

• Participate in daily cycle counting to ensure inventory accuracy.

• Perform frequent stock checks to verify quantities and locations of inventory items.

• Maintain and update inventory locations using 5S methodology to ensure items are correctly placed and tracked.

• Create new storage locations and label racking as needed.

• Assist with the organization and cleanliness of inventory storage areas, adhering to 5S principles.

• Support the Inventory team with general tasks and projects as required.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth inventory operations.

• Follow all company policies and procedures related to inventory management and safety.

• Foster continuous improvement and innovation.

• Adhere to all Company safety rules, standards, and guidelines.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Prior experience in inventory management or a related field is a plus.

• Forklift experience is a plus.

• Knowledge of 5S methodology is a plus.


Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull 50 lbs.
