Job description

Position: Inventor Designer/Drafter
Type:  Contract to hire - 6-months
Pay:  $35.00/hr. - $45.00/hr DOE
Location:  Galena Park, TX
Onsite:  Yes 
Schedule:  Monday - Thursday Onsite, Friday Remote

Skills:  Inventor experience designing platforms, skids, and structural designs.
What you will do:
• Translate design specifications from engineers into detailed working diagrams of electrical, structural, or mechanical equipment using CAD technology
• Create technical drawings and 3D digital models, using measurements, specifications, and data from the engineering team
• Revise existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts
• Maintain accurate drawing records and drafting tasks
• Prepare bill of materials for assigned designs
• Review drawings of other design personnel for completeness and accuracy as required
• Willing to learn about drilling rig equipment to develop domain knowledge and become an effective independent Designer
• Develop and revise drawings while adhering to our Drafting standards and our Engineering Standards & Guidelines
• Some travel required to fabrication facilities, assembly facilities, and rig locations
What you need:
• Associates degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a drafter or similar role
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) software and SolidWorks
• Knowledge of structural and piping detailing and electrical/controls drafting is preferred
• Strong mathematical capabilities and mechanical/electrical aptitude
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks
• Excellent interpersonal, professional, and technical communication skills while working in a team atmosphere
