Position:  Engineering Designer (Job ID:4418)
Location:  Virginia Beach, VA Remote Status: Hybrid

# of Openings:  1 Engineering Designer Purpose:   * Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a Engineering Designer in Virginia Beach, VA. * This position is to provide drafting and design drawing support for modernization and upgrade initiatives for Navy Ship Self Defense Systems (SSDS). Job Description: * The team member shall update various HM&E 3D Drawings using Autodesk Inventor. * The team member shall utilize Inventor to compile native files in preparation for a technical data package (TDP) delivery readiness review. * The team member shall compare existing revisions of drawings and provide recommendations and redlines for consolidating multiple revisions into a single revision. * The team member shall review existing drawing revisions and provide recommendations and redlines to bring all TDP drawing to current ASME standards. * The team member shall utilize government provided redline drawings to update the TDP files to create a clean blackline drawing to be maintained within the TDP. * The team member shall perform Quality Checks for drawing errors, omissions, inconsistencies found during blackline creation and provide recommendations and drawing redlines.   * The team member shall update and maintain drawing tracking databases. * The team member shall support onsite drawing development activities at Dam Neck Annex Base. Qualifications: * Must have 1 plus years of experience with naval systems, naval ships, and/or SSDS and a high school diploma. * Must have experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (I.e., Project and Excel). * Must have 3 plus years of experience working with AutoCAD and Inventor software. Desired Qualifications: * Certification from an accredited Technical School in the Drafting/Design field, preferred. * Experience with Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), preferred. * Experience with working on Dam Neck Annex Base, preferred. Security Requirements: * Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance. * Must maintain clearance eligibility to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.  Travel Requirements:  * Less than 10% * If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.
