Job description

We are seeking a seasoned accounting and finance professional to support a U.S.-based real estate investment company, along with affiliated operating businesses, who combines strong controller-level discipline, hands-on accounting capability, and strategic financial insight. This role requires a professional comfortable managing day-to-day accounting in Intuit QuickBooks while supporting financial reporting, transaction analysis, and multi-entity operations for a growing U.S. real estate and investment platform, including telecommunications operations.

The ideal candidate understands how to maintain clean books and accurate reporting in a U.S.-based business environment, while bringing practical knowledge of real estate transactions, lending structures, and financial controls. This role requires someone who thinks strategically, executes tactically, and operates with a high degree of ownership, integrity, and discretion while supporting the financial operations of a U.S. real estate investment firm.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Accounting

  • Manage full-cycle accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
  • Maintain accurate financial reporting across multiple entities and operating companies
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, income statements, and board reporting packages
  • Support cash flow management, financial analysis, and KPI reporting
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure transaction-level accuracy in QuickBooks
  • Track loan schedules, debt balances, and related account reconciliations

Real Estate & Investment Transactions

  • Account for and analyze real estate acquisitions, lending transactions, and investment activity
  • Support accounting related to hard money lending, debt structures, and investment transactions
  • Review contracts, settlement statements, and transaction economics
  • Maintain lending and investment reporting schedules
  • Support underwriting-oriented analysis and deal-level financial review

Telecom Financial Operations

  • Oversee bookkeeping and accounting for telecommunications operations
  • Manage recurring revenue, expenses, and telecom financial reporting
  • Support profitability reporting and operational financial analysis
  • Assist in maintaining financial controls and reporting processes across telecom operations

What Success Looks Like

The right candidate will bring:

  • Strong full-cycle accounting and financial control discipline
  • Deep attention to detail with hands-on execution ability
  • Sound understanding of lending structures, contracts, and transaction economics
  • Ability to support multi-entity accounting and reporting
  • High ownership mentality, integrity, discretion, and follow-through
  • Willingness to operate both strategically and in the details

Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Advanced hands-on proficiency in Intuit QuickBooks and full-cycle accounting and advanced Excel proficiencies.
  • Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and controller-level accounting discipline
  • Working knowledge of real estate transactions, lending structures, loan schedules, and contract-based transactions
  • Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and disciplined operating habits, including proactive communication and accountability
  • Ability and willingness to personally perform hands-on bookkeeping and transaction processing when needed
  • Stable professional remote work environment, including reliable internet and minimum dual-monitor setup (three preferred)

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

  • 5+ years in senior accounting, controller support, or finance operations roles
  • Experience supporting multi-entity structures and operating businesses such as telecom or recurring revenue businesses
  • Background in hard money lending, financial modeling, or transaction analysis
  • Experience with intercompany consolidations
  • CPA or Big 4 training from firms such as Deloitte, PwC, or KPMG is a plus

Performance Expectations

Success in this role will be measured by:

  • Timely monthly close (within 10 business days)
  • Accurate reconciliations across all bank and loan accounts
  • Timely delivery of income statements and board reporting packages
  • Minimal reporting errors and high reporting accuracy
  • Strong ownership of controls, deadlines, and process discipline

Ideal Candidate

This role is best suited for someone who:

  • Thinks like a finance leader but works like an operator
  • Is equally comfortable in strategic analysis and hands-on accounting execution
  • Understands both operating-company accounting and investment transactions
  • Thrives in entrepreneurial, multi-entity environments

Treats stewardship of financial information with fiduciary-level seriousness
