Job description

Position Title: Intramural Coordinator -- Student Position
Department: Office of Student Life & Community Formation
Reports To: Associate Director of Student Life
Pay Rate: $11.00/hr.
Hours: Approximately 10-15/week
Application Deadline: Opened until filled
Position Summary: The Intramural Coordinator assists the Associate Director of Student Life in the planning and implementation of all intramural sports for the fall and spring semesters and ensures that all play follows official rules.
Essential Functions:
  1. Coordinates the development of the intramural sports schedule and referee & scorekeeper schedule for all sports during the semesters.
  2. Responsible for overseeing intramural registration, selecting captains and referees, and hosting drafts.
  3. Responsible for planning and hosting referee trainings and captain's meetings.
  4. Edits and publishes the intramural handbook and rulebook as needed.
  5. Assist the Fitness Marketing Assistant with maintaining and consistently updating all social media platforms for Asbury Theological Seminary Intramurals.
  6. Responsible for working with the Fitness Marketing Assistant to maintain the Asbury Theological Seminary Intramural website design, updates and event announcements, and aesthetics.
  7. Assists the Associate Director of Student Life in planning special events (kickoff party & spring banquet), advertising for events, and hosting/overseeing events.
  8. Attends and oversees weekly intramural games and functions.
  9. Maintains team rosters, referee & scorekeeper spreadsheets, and liability waivers through EZLeagues.
  10. Meets with the Associate Director of Student Life for program development
  11. Attends biweekly Fitness Team meetings to provide updates.
  12. Provides the Associate Director of Student Life with the number of participants broken down by sport for each semester.
  13. Coordinates with Asbury University's intramural coordinator as needed to plan and encourage joint participation for select sports on both campuses.
  14. Maintains weekly communication with referees and captains and sends mass emails to all participants as needed.
  15. Assists the referees in enforcing official rules and properly handling unsportsmanlike conduct.

Other Responsibilities:
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Student Life.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities and Minimum Qualifications:
1. Enrolled in an academic credit program at Asbury Theological Seminary.
2. Ability to professionally interact with participants with competence and courtesy.
3. Competency required in basic Microsoft Office, Google Documents, and social media business pages.
4. Thorough and working knowledge and interest in intramural sports.
5. Clear organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
6. CPR/First Aid certification required.
7. Must possess a personal commitment to a healthy lifestyle.
8. Flexible with scheduling.
