IN SEARCH OF WRITER / EDITOR

American Oil & Gas Reporter Magazine Editor - Wichita, KS - onsite

· The ideal candidate will work with the executive directors and elected presidents of producer/operator associations AOGR serves as Official Publication to write content about legislative, regulatory, and general business news for each issue.

· Conduct phone and/or Teams interviews from the Wichita office for pre-convention Official Convention News.

· Cull online association newsletters, newswires, and other sources for standalone articles, as well as front-of-book Industry Digest news briefs.

· Interview association and government officials as well as business and financial leaders for multiple-source articles.

· Edit and proof other magazine content to AP and AOGR stylebook and format.

· Maintain regular contact with officers and their staff at state, regional and national oil and gas trade associations, as well as business, financial and government leaders.

· Oversee the Industry Calendar page.

· Occasionally travel to and attend conferences with coverage responsibilities including articles and photography of speakers and award presentations.

The Association Editor works primarily with the executive directors (who thereby are “contributing” editors), to produce relevant public policy updates as well as annual and periodic association, convention and meeting content for each monthly issue. This includes writing and communicating with industry leaders to produce in-depth articles that run the gamut of legislative, regulatory, business, technical, market, legal and financial matters, and obtaining source approvals of final copy according to the 65-year-old American Oil & Gas Reporter editorial policy. Each month’s issue cycle concludes with a final edit of the forthcoming edition, which also includes submissions from other AOGR editors, sources and contributors. Periodic convention travel and subsequent coverage of keynote and other convention speakers make photography skills a plus.

IMMEDIATE OPENING. $48K to $50K Annual Salary Negotiable and with Benefits.
