Employment Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Salary: $70K, plus bonus potential and benefits

Position Summary

A growing multi-unit restaurant organization is seeking an experienced and results-driven Area Coach to support operational excellence across a designated group of restaurant locations. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this leadership role is responsible for coaching and developing restaurant management teams, driving operational performance, and ensuring consistent execution of company standards.

The Area Coach serves as a strategic business partner to restaurant leaders, focusing on sales growth, profitability, talent development, operational compliance, and guest satisfaction. This position requires a hands-on leadership approach and frequent travel between restaurant locations.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership and Performance
  • Partner with General Managers and management teams to achieve sales, profitability, and operational performance objectives.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and support to restaurant leaders to improve execution, accountability, and business results.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to company standards related to quality, service, cleanliness, food safety, and guest experience.
  • Conduct comprehensive operational assessments at each assigned location on a regular basis and develop action plans to address opportunities.
  • Support the successful implementation of new products, initiatives, equipment, and operational procedures.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and develop strategies to improve operational effectiveness and restaurant performance.
Talent Development and Team Leadership
  • Recruit, interview, select, and retain high-performing management talent.
  • Coach and develop General Managers in building strong leadership teams and succession plans.
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and high-performance culture that supports employee retention and development.
  • Provide field-based leadership and support to assist restaurants in achieving staffing goals and reducing turnover.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, employment practices, and performance management procedures.
  • Address employee relations matters and administer corrective action when necessary.
Financial and Business Management
  • Analyze sales, labor, and profitability trends to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement.
  • Achieve financial objectives and performance targets established by senior leadership.
  • Monitor and manage controllable expenses to maximize restaurant profitability.
  • Conduct periodic cash handling, security, and operational audits to safeguard company assets and ensure policy compliance.
  • Maintain accountability for the overall financial performance of assigned locations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Proven multi-unit management experience within the restaurant, hospitality, retail, or related service industry.
  • Current Food Safety Certification or the ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with business software applications, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel regularly between assigned locations.
  • Ability to successfully complete applicable background and motor vehicle record checks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated success leading multiple locations and improving operational performance.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations, food safety requirements, workforce management, and financial controls.
