REPORTS TO:
Principal/Assistant Principals
DESCRIPTION:
Kearny High School is seeking a dedicated and student-focused In-School Intervention (ISI) Proctor to supervise and support students to the ISI Program. The proctor will play a key role in maintaining a structured, respectful environment while ensuring students remain on task with their academic responsibilities. This position is essential to the successful implementation of our updated disciplinary approach, aimed at promoting student accountability and academic progress.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience working with high school students in an educational or supervisory setting is strongly preferred
Ability to maintain composure, authority, and fairness in a disciplinary environment
Strong communication and organizational skills
Familiarity with Google Classroom and basic educational technology
Ability to collaborate with faculty, and families in a professional manner
RESPONSIBILITES:
Supervise students assigned to In-School Intervention in Room 217N throughout the school day
Ensure a quiet, structured, and respectfulย  learning environment
Monitor student attendance, behavior, and academic engagement
Assist students in accessing and completing assignments on Google Classroom
Collaborate with academic support staff, including Math and English teachers, to coordinate services
Communicate with guidance counselors regarding student progress and concerns
Maintain records of student participation and report noncompliance to the administration
Enforce school behavioral expectations in alignment with school policies
WORK HOURS:ย 8:15 a.m. - 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday (on days when ISI is in session)
REMUNERATION:
Remuneration will be Step 1-2 of the KEA contract with option for health benefits.ย ย
