Job description

InterSystems is seeking a Senior Advisor, Healthcare Delivery (North America IDNs/Providers) to join our Global Healthcare Market Strategy team. This senior-level individual contributor will own the provider/IDN market narrative, drive thought leadership and industry engagement, and ensure InterSystems maintains sustained visibility, credibility and influence in the North American provider ecosystem.
This is a Market Strategy role within Marketing. The Senior Advisor partners closely with Product, Sales, and Customer Success to translate provider/IDN market needs into clear strategy, messaging, and market-facing programs.
InterSystems has been a leader in the data management, interoperability, and digital health space since its inception. Today, more than 1 billion health records worldwide are managed using InterSystems technology. That tech includes our HealthShare interoperability product suite, InterSystems IRIS for Health and InterSystems IntelliCare and TrakCare.
This new role will focus initially on North America, with the potential for limited international work.
Key Responsibilities
  • Market strategy and positioning
    • Serve as the segment owner for North American IDNs/health systems and provider delivery organizations within Market Strategy.
    • Define and maintain the provider/IDN positioning, messaging, and narrative in partnership with Product Marketing and Product Management.
    • Provide continuous market analysis on IDN priorities (e.g., interoperability, access, care coordination, data platforms, modernization) and translate insights into GTM and product guidance.
  • Industry engagement and standards participation
    • Develop and sustain senior relationships with key provider/IDN leaders and influential industry stakeholders (e.g., CIOs, CMIOs, CNIOs, clinical informatics leaders, innovation executives), as well as key associations and peer networks.
    • Build InterSystems' provider/IDN market credibility through conference presence, webinars, speaking, writing, media engagement and strategic participation in high-impact industry forums.
    • Represent (or coordinate representation for) InterSystems in relevant industry workgroups and standards communities as needed, with awareness of the landscape including HL7, Da Vinci, Sequoia, and related interoperability initiatives.
  • Analyst engagement and relationships
    • Own and execute provider-segment industry analyst engagement in partnership with Marketing and Product leaders (e.g., analyst briefings, inquiry prep, narrative alignment, and follow-up).
    • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key analysts covering interoperability, provider IT modernization, data platforms, and digital health; ensure InterSystems' provider narrative is consistently understood and accurately reflected.
  • Cross-functional internal leadership
    • Provide strategic SME leadership to Product, GTM, Sales, and Customer Success on market dynamics, buyer personas, and competitive context.
    • Partner with Sales Enablement to translate positioning into usable field assets
    • Create feedback loops from the field and customers into Product and Marketing strategy.
  • Customer and partner advocacy
    • Identify and develop customer stories, references, and speaking opportunities, especially within IDNs and large provider organizations.
    • Support strategic partner alignment where provider/IDN ecosystem relationships are required.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree preferred (e.g., MPH, MBA, MS, clinical informatics).
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in healthcare, including significant exposure to provider organizations / IDNs / health systems (e.g., operations, strategy, informatics, IT leadership, clinical transformation, or healthcare IT leadership serving providers).
  • Demonstrated expertise in provider/IDN buying dynamics, operational drivers, and the healthcare IT landscape.
  • Strong understanding of interoperability and healthcare data standards and the role of standards in market adoption (e.g., familiarity with HL7® and FHIR®, and the broader standards ecosystem).
  • Proven ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Exceptional communication skills (executive presence, public speaking, and writing).
  • Willingness to travel.
  • In-office in Boston, MA.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical background (e.g., RN, MD/DO, NP/PA, pharmacist) or formal clinical informatics experience.
  • Direct experience working with standards organizations and implementation communities (e.g., HL7 workgroups, Da Vinci Project, Sequoia initiatives) or leading interoperability programs at an IDN.
  • Experience developing thought leadership platforms and market-facing content for provider audiences.
