Position Summary
The Applications Analyst - Epic Cupid reports to the Assistant Manager, Epic Applications. This position is responsible for leading advanced support, troubleshooting, maintenance, build, testing, and optimization of Epic Cupid and related cardiovascular clinical workflows. The role partners with cardiology, cardiovascular services, procedural, imaging, operational, information services, and Epic/vendor stakeholders to improve cardiovascular documentation, orders, results, scheduling, procedure workflows, reporting, charging, and cross-application integration; ensure application reliability; and support safe, efficient patient care across the enterprise.
Essential Position Responsibilities
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of Epic Cupid functionality, including cardiovascular workflow design, cardiology documentation, procedure workflows, imaging and results integration, application dependencies, integration points, and downstream impacts across the enterprise
  • Lead cardiovascular services stakeholders, cardiology providers, clinical and operational leaders, internal information services teams, and Epic/vendor partners in developing Cupid enhancements, optimization initiatives, and workflow improvement projects
  • Oversee Epic Cupid application design, build, configuration, maintenance, and validation to ensure functionality aligns with cardiovascular services operations, clinical documentation needs, procedural workflows, and end-user requirements
  • Perform complex analysis, build, implementation, and optimization of Epic Cupid workflows to support cardiology documentation, orders, results review, procedure documentation, structured reporting, scheduling, charging, imaging integration, and integrated clinical workflows
  • Meet regularly with cardiovascular services staff, cardiology providers, clinical leaders, operational leaders, imaging and procedural partners, and administrative teams to evaluate Cupid workflow issues, resolve system concerns, and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, safety, care coordination, documentation integrity, and the end-user experience
  • Lead the development and execution of coordinated testing plans for Epic Cupid, including regression, unit, system, integrated, interface, device or imaging integration, charging, reporting, and user acceptance testing to ensure changes function as expected for end users and connected systems
  • Serve as a leading advocate for Epic Cupid users by translating cardiovascular clinical, procedural, imaging, and operational needs into effective system solutions that improve patient care, workflow efficiency, documentation quality, reporting accuracy, and user satisfaction
  • Provide mentorship for team members and assist with team member training, as needed
  • Ensure that programs and services meet accrediting standards for the Joint Commission, Quality, Promoting Interoperability, and other accrediting and governance programs
  • Ensure the safeguarding of protected health information
  • Maintain communication through various resources and tools
  • Monitor help desk software for new tickets and update and provide resolution for existing tickets
  • Lead Epic Cupid projects, enhancements, upgrades, optimization efforts, testing activities, and ongoing maintenance initiatives
  • Identify and lead opportunities to improve Epic-supported cardiovascular documentation, procedural, imaging, scheduling, charging, reporting, and care coordination workflows through system optimization, standardization, and process improvement
  • Adhere to all information services policies, procedures, and governance processes
  • Lead incident response and downtime procedures

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or clinical license, preferred.
  • Licensure and Certifications: Epic Cupid certification required.
  • Experience: Four to six years of clinical applications experience as an applications analyst supporting multiple modules/applications, with direct experience in Epic build, testing, implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization strongly preferred. Experience supporting Epic Cupid workflows is preferred, including cardiovascular clinical documentation, cardiology provider workflows, orders, results review, procedure documentation, structured reporting, scheduling, charging, imaging or device integration, reporting, and integrated clinical workflows. Strong understanding of clinical application dependencies, workflow impacts, testing methodologies, interface and integration workflows, and coordination with technology, interface, data, reporting, operational, cardiovascular services, and clinical teams is required.

Work Environment: This position will spend 90% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment and 10% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This is role is considered a remote position with onsite presence as needed.
