Fabricator/Welder Job Summary
Assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a manufacturing organization.
Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products
  • Prefer candidate with GMAW and GTAW experience in aluminum, steel and stainless steel
  • Utilize handheld tools such as a hand held screw gun, drill gun, and grinders
  • Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand tool
  • Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods
  • Continually evaluate weld machine performance and technology to improve cycle times
  • Create specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
  • Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
  • Prioritize work flow through effective communication with management staff
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

  • Must be able to pass a 3G plate test
  • Basic reading skills and must be able to follow directions
  • Basic computer navigation and utilization skills preferred
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem
  • High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
  • Specific technical or vocational training or certification preferred
  • Work in a team environment and respect all teammates
  • Must be able to pass a 4G plate test
