General Position Summary
The Director of Marketing leads the strategy, planning, and execution of XSEED/Marvelous USA’s North American marketing initiatives. This role is responsible for growing brand awareness, driving product visibility, and developing marketing strategies that support both short-term opportunities and long-term business goals.
The Director will oversee marketing initiatives across product marketing, public relations, campaigns, events, partnerships, and community engagement while working closely with the PR Manager and marketing team. This position collaborates with executive leadership, internal teams, external partners, and global stakeholders to strengthen the XSEED/Marvelous brands and effectively connect our games with players.
The ideal candidate is a strategic and creative marketing leader with deep knowledge of the video game industry, experience leading teams and campaigns, and the ability to balance high-level strategy with hands-on execution.
Essential Job Functions 
Leadership & Marketing Strategy
  • Lead the development and execution of XSEED/Marvelous USA’s North American marketing strategy, including go-to-market plans, brand growth initiatives, and long-term marketing direction.
  • Partner with executive leadership to establish marketing priorities and align initiatives with overall company goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing team while fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
  • Oversee relationships with external agencies, vendors, and marketing partners.
  • Provide North American market insights and recommendations to support global decision-making.

Product Marketing & Brand Management 
  • Define product positioning, messaging, campaign direction, and promotional strategies in partnership with internal teams and global stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for audience growth, brand expansion, and new marketing initiatives through player insights and competitive analysis.
  • Provide North American market feedback on product proposals, release strategies, collaborations, and promotional opportunities.
  • Work closely with product management, sales, business development, localization, and international teams to execute successful marketing initiatives.

Public Relations, Events & Community
  • Partner with the PR Manager to develop PR, communications, and brand strategies that support product launches and marketing objectives.
  • Oversee media relations, industry events, trade shows, community activations, and promotional initiatives.
  • Provide strategic direction for messaging, announcements, campaigns, and external communications.

Qualifications 
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, product marketing, public relations, or brand management within the video game industry.
  • Proven experience developing and executing marketing strategies, go-to-market plans, and integrated campaigns.
  • Experience leading teams, managing external partners, and overseeing marketing initiatives from strategy through execution.
  • Strong understanding of the North American video game market.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience working with global teams and international partners preferred.
  • Passion for video games and familiarity with console and PC gaming markets; experience with Japanese titles and knowledge of Japanese language and culture is beneficial.
