Position Summary

The Volunteer Chief Executive Officer serves as the organization’s highest-ranking executive responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of RISE Foundation while implementing the strategic vision established by the Founder & Chairman and Board of Directors.

This is an extraordinary opportunity to help build a nationally recognized nonprofit organization from its earliest stages.

The CEO will oversee organizational strategy, operations, fundraising, partnerships, executive leadership, financial stewardship, volunteer engagement, and long-term organizational growth.

The ideal candidate is an experienced executive, nonprofit leader, healthcare administrator, educator, entrepreneur, or business professional who is passionate about empowering young people and building a mission-driven organization with national impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the overall operations of RISE Foundation.
  • Execute the strategic vision established by the Founder & Chairman and Board of Directors.
  • Develop annual and long-term strategic plans.
  • Build organizational infrastructure and sustainable systems.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, collaboration, accountability, innovation, and service.
  • Ensure mission alignment throughout the organization.
  • Represent the Foundation publicly with professionalism and excellence.
Organizational Development
  • Build scalable nonprofit operations.
  • Recruit and develop executive leadership.
  • Establish organizational policies and procedures.
  • Create efficient systems and workflows.
  • Improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop performance metrics and accountability systems.
Lead organizational fundraising initiatives, including:
  • Individual giving campaigns
  • Corporate sponsorships
  • Government funding opportunities
  • Strategic partnerships
Community & Strategic Partnerships

Develop and strengthen relationships with:

  • Colleges and universities
  • Hospitals
  • Community organizations
  • Corporate partners
  • Professional associations
  • National nonprofit organizations

Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Board of Directors to:

  • Develop annual budgets.
  • Maintain nonprofit compliance.
  • Promote transparency and accountability.

Provide strategic leadership and supervision to the Foundation’s Executive Leadership Team while promoting collaboration, accountability, and organizational excellence.

Current Direct Reports
  • Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) – Administrative operations, governance, compliance, executive administration, and organizational support.
  • Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Daily operations, organizational performance, implementation, and operational strategy.
  • Chief Programs Officer (CPO) – Program development, mentorship initiatives, leadership programs, educational services, and community engagement.
  • Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Finance, accounting, budgeting, grants, audits, and financial sustainability.
  • Chief Information Officer (CIO) – Information technology, cybersecurity, digital systems, technology strategy, and data management.
  • Vice President of Human Resources – Talent acquisition, volunteer workforce management, employee relations, organizational development, training, compliance, and workplace culture.

Board Relations
  • Attend all Board meetings.

Provide executive oversight for all Foundation initiatives, including:

  • RISE Internship Corps

As a startup nonprofit organization, the Volunteer Chief Executive Officer position is initially unpaid. However, the Board of Directors recognizes the level of leadership, responsibility, and commitment required for this role and intends to transition the position into a compensated executive role as the Foundation achieves sustainable financial growth.

As funding becomes available through grants, philanthropic support, corporate sponsorships, earned revenue, major gifts, fundraising campaigns, and other sustainable revenue sources, the Board will periodically evaluate executive compensation.

Potential future executive compensation may include
  • Competitive executive salary aligned with comparable nonprofit organizations.
  • Annual performance‑based incentive compensation, where permitted by nonprofit law and approved by the Board.

All executive compensation will be determined solely by the Board of Directors or its authorized compensation committee and will comply with all applicable nonprofit laws, IRS regulations, conflict‑of‑interest policies, and the Foundation’s financial resources. Compensation will never be based on a percentage of donations or fundraising proceeds.
