Job description

Job Summary:
Silicon Labs is the leading innovator in low-power wireless connectivity, and they are seeking a Software Developer in Test II to join their IoT software division in Boston. This role focuses on improving the quality of the SiSDK Product by designing and executing tests, developing automation, and collaborating with development teams and customer support to ensure high-quality embedded software products.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Design and execute functional, negative, performance, and stress tests for Silicon Labโ€™s embedded wireless and MCU products.
โ€ข Work closely with development team(s) to debug problems found during the test cycle
โ€ข Develop automation tests so they can be run regularly as part of a continuous integration infrastructure
โ€ข Assist in resolving customer issues by working closely with the customer support team to answer and reproduce customer-related issues
โ€ข Emulate customer environments by working closely with the sales team and field application engineers in supporting customerโ€™s needs and debug customerโ€™s problems
โ€ข Build, manage, and maintain a distributed test network
โ€ข Simplification and automation of product deployments and platform changes
โ€ข Productivity increase of the team through identifying opportunities to automate and script daily tasks and eliminate waste in existing processes
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 3+ years industry experience as a software developer and/or test automation
โ€ข Knowledge of Python/Pytest in addition to C/C++ with GenAI
โ€ข Knowledge of Jenkins for CI, Docker and GIT as Source control are a must.
โ€ข Data communications and networking experience (TCP/IP, etc)
โ€ข Wireless protocols knowledge.
โ€ข Experience with continuous integration technique and test automation system.
โ€ข Able to create and review test plans based on requirements.
โ€ข Ability to plan CI processes.
โ€ข Experience in implementing test strategies and test plans.
โ€ข Experience with artificial intelligence (AI) powered tools and technologies used to enhance productivity, analysis, and decision-making
Preferred:
โ€ข Experience with continuous integration
โ€ข WiFi and Thread protocols knowledge
โ€ข Test Application development including standard APIโ€™s (REST API)
โ€ข Experience with task management and bug tracking systems such as JIRA
โ€ข Team leading and-or coordinating experience
โ€ข IoT Domain knowledge
