Job description

Compensation Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. Status: Per Diem Shift: 12.5 HOUR NIGHTS Department: Sleep Lab Position Summary Summary: The Sleep Technologist will work under medical supervision to perform and evaluate overnight polysomnograms. The Sleep Technologists works independently to safely operate sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep and wake physiology. He/she will review and analyze H & P information, procedure request, and study protocol. Identify and meet special needs of patients such as physical/mental limitations, etc. The Sleep Technologist will complete and verify documentation as well as prepare and calibrate equipment, making necessary adjustments and score said recording. Qualifications Responsibilities: Education Required • Must complete in-house orientation program • Associate Degree or High School Diploma or equivalency required • Graduate of a polysomnographic technology education program acceptable to the New York State Education Department (NYSED) preferred • Free Sleep scoring training provided Experience And Skills • Speaks, reads and writes English • Bilingual a plus • 2 or more years of overnight Polysomnographic Technologist experience • Pediatric experience a plus License/Certifications • Registration with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) Preferred • New York State Polysomnographic Technologist License is required, or exempt NYS license with appropriate certified sleep education or experience • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association Working Conditions Other information: Working Conditions • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn • Frequent, prolonged standing/walking, lifts, positions and/or transfer of patients
