Epidemiologist REDCap, SAS Public Health Data

Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Work Arrangement: Hybrid / Primarily Remote
Onsite Requirement: Approximately once per month in Nashville or as needed
Residency Requirement: Must be a Tennessee resident before the start date
Employment Type: Contract
Start Date: September 21, 2026
End Date: June 30, 2027
Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM4:30 PM CST
Hours: 37.5 hours per week / 7.5 hours per day

Required Skills Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Epidemiology, Public Health Biostatistics, Statistics, or Health Information from an accredited college or university.

OR

  • Masters degree in Health Science, Biomedical Science, or Environmental Science plus at least 2 years of professional experience in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, health informatics, health sciences, biomedical sciences, or environmental sciences.

  • Extensive hands-on REDCap experience with the ability to independently build, modify, enhance, and maintain data collection projects.

  • Strong statistical programming experience using SAS.

  • Ability to independently write SAS code and test outputs for accuracy.

  • Experience managing electronic data and navigating complex databases.

  • Experience extracting, cleaning, validating, analyzing, and reporting data.

  • Experience producing recurring data reports.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain a REDCap-based data collection system supporting public health program operations.

  • Translate programmatic requirements into appropriate data collection structures and system functionality.

  • Build and modify REDCap projects as monitoring guidance, business processes, and program requirements evolve.

  • Implement REDCap project changes and enhancements.

  • Develop, modify, and maintain SAS code.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Epidemiologist with strong expertise in REDCap, SAS, epidemiology, public health data, statistical programming, database management, reporting, and program evaluation.

The position supports a large public health care-coordination initiative serving children, youth, and families. The Epidemiologist will play an important role in developing and maintaining the program's REDCap data collection environment, producing recurring reports, implementing SAS and REDCap enhancements, responding to data requests, and supporting public health surveillance and evaluation activities.

The role will also support the transition and integration of program activities into a new data system, giving the selected candidate exposure to both epidemiologic analysis and data-system implementation.
