We are seeking an experienced GM/Head of Studio to lead our studio's direction, performance, and success. This role blends operational, creative, strategic, managerial, and business responsibilities. This individual will have experience both in game development and at a service provider (codev or art outsourcing studios).
As a key member of our senior management team, reporting directly to the CEO, you will drive the execution of the company's strategy, ensure alignment across verticals, and manage diverse business operations to achieve sustainable growth. We are looking for a passionate leader who can cultivate a culture where team members are excited about our impact on clients and the industry as a whole. And ideally have fun doing it, in the end we work in games!
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Vision:
• Define Studio Vision: Develop and communicate a clear vision for the studio, aligning it
with the company's overall goals and objectives.
• Strategic Planning: Formulate strategic plans to guide the studio's growth, development,
and market positioning.
• Identify Opportunities: Explore and identify new business opportunities, partnerships,
and potential areas for growth.
Studio Management:
• Drive day-to-day studio operations and cross-department collaboration: oversee IT, Legal, Production, HR, Recruitment
• Drive operational efficiencies, quality, and cost reduction: Streamline operations within the service departments; ensure that processes are efficient, well-defined, easily adopted, and quickly learned by new team members.
• Drive company's quarterly and yearly OKR: Develop, implement and monitor a system of operational KPIs across departments, ensuring the company' system of operational KPIs is aligned with the company's strategy and scale plan.
• Establish effective process-level cooperation with the CEO, CFO, Head of BD, Production, Marketing aimed at scaling and growing revenue and margins.
Team Management:
• Build and Lead Teams: Drive recruitment, hire, and management of an extraordinary team of professionals that love what they do and are excited to drive excellence on each level of the company
• Team Culture: Foster a culture of curiosity, accountability and teamwork, that encourages efficiency and innovation
• Professional Growth: In collaboration with HR drive support ongoing training and professional development opportunities for studio employees.
• Talent Retention: Foster an environment that promotes employee satisfaction and retention.
Strategic Financial Management:
• Develop and execute Studio strategy to achieve revenue and margin targets: services portfolio strategy, pricing strategy, capacity management and hiring strategy, target
Studio org. chart and management org. structure.
• Take ownership of (assume responsibility over) the Studio P&L:
• Decompose budget targets and execution responsibility to specific Studio-level key management positions
• In collaboration with the CFO provide monthly Studio management reporting, quarterly Studio forecasting, and annual Studio budgeting processes, to track revenue and margins consistently.
• In collaboration with the Head of Production establish effective capacity planning tools, capacity, and bench risk management frameworks, aligned with the strategy and budget targets
• Partner with the CFO and CEO to establish effective motivation plans and bonus systems linked to sales, revenue, and margins
Requirements
Key Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a GM, Head of Studio or relevant role, with solid experience as a Project Manager, Producer and/or PMO in the video games industry.
  • Strong tactical acumen, with the ability to foresee potential issues and create strategic plans to overcome them.
    Proven track record strategic planning and business growth.
  • Strong revenue knowledge and headcount growth
  • Driving operational efficiencies, quality and cost reduction.
  • Developing and implementing effective growth strategies
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
  • Experience with Big4 audits
  • Experience with IT/Business infrastructure.
  • Experience in recruiting, developing, and overseeing a performance-driven team.
  • Adept at strategic decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • PMP certification is a plus
  • MSc/MBA is a plus.

Key Experience:
  • Proven leadership background in game development and 3-4 years experience at a service provider: full cycle game development, codev or art outsourcing studios
  • 10+ years of experience in the games or entertainment industry, including extensive hands-on production or project management work.
  • 6+ years in an executive or senior leadership role such as General Manager, Head of Studio, or Head of Production.
  • Track record of success managing large cross-functional teams and delivering multiple projects across various platforms.
  • Experience in service-oriented environments (e.g., outsourcing, co-development, or art service studios) as a Project Manager, Producer, or Executive Producer at a well-recognized company.
  • Strong strategic mindset, business acumen, and ability to balance creative vision with operational excellence.
