Our services include a state-of-the-art psychiatric urgent care center and a soon-to-be-built pediatric behavioral health center, outpatient, inpatient, partial hospitalization (day programs), assessment and testing, residential, addiction treatment and specialty services such as crisis response, employee assistance programs, forensic psychiatry and psychology, and neuromodulation. On-the-job educational programs for nurses, psychologists, advanced practice providers, psychiatrists, and chaplains are equipping the next generation of care providers.

Psychometry Internship -- Gain Hands-On Experience in Psychological Assessment! (ON-SITE/IN-PERSON)
Are you an undergraduate psychology student seeking valuable, real-world experience? Our Psychometry Internship at the Pine Rest Psychological Consultation Center (PCC) offers a unique opportunity to develop essential skills in psychological assessment and consultation.
As a Psychometry Intern, you will become part of a team of experienced Psychologists and support staff dedicated to evaluating and assisting individuals across the lifespan, from children to older adults. Your primary role will involve administering and scoring psychological assessments for clients suspected of having Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Through individualized supervision and hands-on training, you'll gain:
  • Experience in administering standardized psychological tests
  • Insight into psychological testing, measurement, and evaluation
  • Opportunities to observe Psychologists in clinical consultations and assessments
  • Exposure to a professional clinical environment

By the end of this unpaid field experience, you'll have built practical skills in psychological testing and expanded your knowledge of clinical assessment-an invaluable foundation for graduate studies and future careers in psychology!
Fall 2026 Internship Details:
  • Application Timeline: June 3rd, 2026 - July 13th, 2026
  • Group Interview: July 31st, 2026
  • Internship Orientation: August 17th, 2026 or August 24th, 2026
  • First Reporting Day at PCC: August 18th, 2026 or August 25th, 2026

Time Commitment:
Our Summer internships last 15 weeks, totaling approximately 180 hours and are on-site, in-person. Interns must complete 12 hours per week, which can be scheduled as:
  • One full-day (8-hour) shift plus one half-day (4-hour) shift per week OR
  • Three half-day (4-hour) shifts per week.

All shifts are scheduled Monday - Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm (no evening or weekend hours).
Who Should Apply?
Psychology undergraduate students with a Junior or Senior class standing only (MA-level applicants will not be considered).
Required Coursework (Completed Before Internship):
  • Introductory Psychology Courses
  • Upper-Level Courses: Abnormal Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Statistics, and Research Methods

Preferred coursework:
  • Psychological Testing, Psychological Consultation, and Personality
