Position Overview:
As a Vehicle Paint Technician, you will support a broad range of activities in a dynamic, high-energy production environment with a strong focus on safety and quality in the fabrication of carbon steel and stainless-steel car bodies for the best rail vehicles in the world.
What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Prep, prime, and topcoat light rail vehicles.
  • Hand, block and mechanical sand the car shell for primer and paint.
  • Mask and clean surface for proper adhesion.
  • Primes and undercoats vehicle.
  • General maintenance of equipment.
  • Assists other painters as needed

To thrive in this role, you have:
  • High school education or state recognized GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing or similar environment in painting or similar materials.
  • 1+ years of experience in painting within a manufacturing or similar materials environment
  • Must have basic English skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, contracted services and other employees within the Company.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and technical documentation.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
