Job description

Overview

BerryDunn is seeking a Manager to join our Outsourced Accounting Practice Group. You will join a core team tasked with running multiple client engagements at any one time, and will perform duties such as Controller-to-go services which include maintaining the full general ledger, journal entries, budgets, and client consulting. Also, you will perform accounting software implementations, providing ongoing accounting software support, assist clients with developing and maintaining internal procedures/processes.   You will also responsible for helping oversee and review staff work on related jobs.  This position is planned to sit in the Portland, ME office of BerryDunn. You will report to the Senior Managers and Principals in the Outsourced Accounting Group.

Travel Expectations: This role requires minimal travel, less than 10% per year.

You Will
  • Gain comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives and utilize that knowledge on engagements.
  • Oversee and review our professional team in preparing workpapers, financial statements (GAAP basis - non-disclosure) and preparing engagement correspondence.
  • Develop and maintain a great working relationship with clients to enhance customer satisfaction and work with client management and staff at all levels to perform outsourced accounting.
  • Lead team members to ensure we complete project components and assignment tasks.
  • Perform duties at a Controller level for clients on an on-going basis.
  • Maintain expertise of accounting software, trends, technology to be able to train internal team and external clients.
  • Develop and communicate recommendations for business and process improvements.
  • Actively participate in meetings as a key member of the outsourced accounting team.
  • Assist principals and senior management on proposals and business development calls.

You Have
  • Minimum BA/BS degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 7 years relevant experience
  • An excellent understanding of accounting concepts and business acumen

Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $90,000 - $110,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
