    Job description

    Key Duties:

    • Compile and reconcile data to be used in accruals, journal entries, and invoicing in our marine transportation operating segment.
    • Assist in month and year-end close processes, including account analysis and reconciliation.
    • Work with the marine administration team to prepare, edit, and send invoices to customers.
    • Manage tasks and requests from marine administration, customers, and accounting team.
    • Work closely with the marine accounting manager and accounting clerk to complete monthly tasks and responsibilities.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships within the marine accounting team, the rest of the accounting group, and the marine administration and operations teams.
    • Comply with internal control requirements as well as work with internal and external auditors on areas of responsibility.

    Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

    • Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Accounting
    • Entry level to 3 years of experience, either from public accounting or industry
    • Extremely organized and detail-oriented, able to handle high volume with accuracy
    • Strong email management capabilities
    • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
    • Team player, works well with others
    • Proactive in analyzing issues, solving problems, and identifying areas of process improvement
    • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
    • Strong/advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, large data management)
