JOB TITLE:ย Attorneyย 

POSITION:ย Full-Time Employmentย 

REPORTS TO:ย Supervising Attorneyย 

DEPARTMENT:ย Legalย 

PURPOSE:ย 

The Attorney position is responsible for guiding clients through all stages of the WTC Health Program and 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund (VCF) processes, from initial intake throughย claimย resolution,ย including theย prosecutionย of both personal injury and wrongful deathย claims. Thisย role involves direct client interaction, legal analysis, document drafting, and advocacy, including arguing appeals before the U.S. Department of Justice. The attorney will also provide counsel and support to staff to ensure theย timely,ย accurate, and effective prosecution of claims.ย 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:ย 

  • Conduct new client intake to assess eligibility and complete acquisition.ย 

  • Counsel clients throughout the WTC Health Program and VCF claim processes.ย 

  • Review medical records andย evidenceย toย determineย sufficiency for VCF claims.ย 

  • Draft and review documents supporting VCF submissions.ย 

  • Provideย legal guidance toย Client Advocatesย and client-facing staff.ย 

  • Represent the firm at networking events to engage potential clients.ย 

  • Stay current on WTC Health Program and VCF policies, procedures, and legal developments.ย 

  • Apply specialized legal knowledge to deliver high-quality work on time.ย 

  • Collaborate across teams and contribute to firmwide initiatives.ย 

  • Identifyย challenges within casework and propose effective solutions.ย 

  • Log all communications, documents, and data points in Salesforce.ย 

  • Maintain weekend availability for client intake and lead vetting.ย 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.ย 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:ย 

  • Juris Doctor degree and admission to the New York State bar.ย 

  • Minimum of two yearsโ€™ experience as a practicing attorney.ย 

  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.ย 

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.ย 

  • Must haveย familiarity and experience with WTCHP & VCF rules, guidelines, and claim processes.ย 

  • Proficiencyย in Microsoft Officeย Suite; Salesforce experience preferred.ย 

  • Ability to review and interpret medical documentation.ย 

  • Creative,ย solutions-oriented problem solver with sound judgment.ย 

  • Team-oriented, professional, and committed to ethical conduct.ย 

  • In-office presence Mondayโ€“Thursday, with Friday as an optional remote day.ย 

SALARY:ย 

$90,000-$125,000ย
