Job description

The Development Team Internship Opportunity is an exciting position that will assist the Development team with a focus on entitlements, design, and the Arthaus Solar program.  


Primary Responsibilities


  • Assist the Acquisitions and Development team with market research zoning, design and cost analysis in order to assist with determining feasibility for specific projects. 


  • Support Development team with various projects in the design stage including reviewing design drawings and providing opinions on constructability and design.


  • Support Development team with various projects in the entitlement stage and assist with Project management and coordination tasks to support the team.


  • Support the Construction team with the bidding process for projects. 


  • Support the Construction team with the building permit process including organizing plans, submitting plans and making payments to the appropriate agencies. 


  • Visit job sites to check on the status of various items at the direction of the Development and Construction team.


  • Take notes and provide minutes and action items for various internal meetings for the development team and assist with follow up communications to ensure timely and accurate next steps related to the projects.


  • Support the VP of Design and Entitlement with upcoming project completions including punch list, FF&E ordering and install management. 


  • Support Development and Construction team with various administrative tasks including but not limited to: public outreach, mailings, printing and organizing plans, and completing permit applications.


  • Support the ArtHaus Power Solar Program through tenant engagement, dissemination of communication materials, data collection and analysis, and the preparation of reporting materials for company updates 


  • Support ArtHaus Advisory team members on tasks as needed to secure new clients and support existing ones. Activities may include code research, preparing comparative studies, powerpoints, schedules and budgets.


Secondary Responsibilities


  • Other projects or tasks as assigned to support the Development and Construction teams.


Qualifications


Education & Experience

  • Current Status: Current undergraduate or recent graduate pursuing a degree in architecture, economics, urban planning, environmental science, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management or other related field.
  • Academic Foundation: Familiar with the real estate lifecycle, including land acquisition, the entitlement process, and construction phases.
  • Previous Experience: Prior internship experience in real estate, architecture, or a related field is highly preferred but not required.


Technical Skills

  • Software Proficiency:  Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (for cost analysis and data collection) and the rest of the Google/Office 365 Suite.
  • Design Tools: Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, or SketchUp is a significant plus for reviewing design drawings and organizing plans.
  • Research & Analysis: Ability to navigate municipal zoning codes, city permit portals, and market data platforms (like CoStar or LoopNet).
  • Reporting: Experience in data visualization or preparing professional PowerPoint presentations for stakeholders and advisory clients.
