Primary Purpose of Position
The Department of Applied Engineering Technology (AET) in the College of Science and Technology at North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for a 9-month, full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position in Computer Graphics Technology at the rank of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Teaching Assistant Professor, or Teaching Associate Professor, beginning August 2026. Exceptionally qualified candidates may be considered for appointment at the Teaching Full Professor rank. The initial appointment is for two years, with the possibility of renewal.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Computer Graphics Technology, advising and mentoring students, and supporting tutoring and supplemental instructional activities. The role also includes active engagement in student recruitment, curriculum development, and related scholarly endeavors that enhance teaching and learning.
Additional responsibilities include service to the Department, College, and University, such as participating in committee work, supporting program assessment and accreditation efforts, and engaging in initiatives that advance departmental goals. Administrative and leadership contributions may involve coordinating multi-section courses, developing experiential learning and internship opportunities, assisting with recruitment activities, chairing committees, and advising student organizations. Mentoring undergraduate students is an essential component of this position, as student success and engagement are central to the AET mission.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is an 1890 land-grant doctoral Research University dedicated to learning, discovery, and community engagement. The College of Science and Technology enrolls ~2200 students. Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have a Master's degree in user experience, interactive web design, interactive media, or a closely related design technology field.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Highly preferred candidates will have a PhD in a closely related field, industry experience in user experience development, and teaching experience in an accredited program.
