ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHYย  INTERNSHIP

The Photography & Videography Intern will play a key role as part of our Marketing Team, and will be reporting directly to our Marketing Coordinator. They will be responsible for capturing and collecting content onsite at our school programs that showcase our kids, staff, special events, and activities. Our Photography & Videography Interns must be expert storytellers! They will be able to capture moments that demonstrate what our kids are participating in to share with our communities and families.

Kids in the Game offers seasonal internships throughout the year. Internships are typically 14-18 weeks long and Interns would be expected to work between 25-35 hours per week in person at our office location. Below are the dates for each season.

  • Fall 2025: September 8th - December 19th
  • Spring 2026: January 12th - May 15th
  • Summer 2025: May 18th - August 21st

Compensation: Internships are unpaid opportunities for first term Interns. There is a $200-$300 completion bonus for unpaid interns. There are also potential opportunities to extend for a second term, paid internship. We can also offer class credit where applicable.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Travel between recess, physical education, after school, and sports programs across NYC as a Kids in the Game ambassador.

  • Capture content from special events, showcases, and everyday activities, and share content with our Marketing Team.

  • Have an understanding of the types of photos and videos we are looking for, and why we want that type of content.

  • Edit photos and videos to ensure the highest quality of content.

  • Upload and sort photos and videos on our photography platform: Waldo.

  • Collaborate with members of the Marketing department to ensure content is captured and uploaded promptly.

  • Having your own DSLR camera is preferred. Quality phone cameras are also okay.

  • Portfolio required.

  • The Photography & Videographyย  Intern must be able to work within a team environment and independently. They must have an entrepreneurial spirit and will be called upon to assist in solving problems for our families and go above and beyond to promote safety, fun, and a family spirit.

  • The Photography & Videography Intern is expected to communicate quickly and efficiently with their direct manager and other leadership team members. Use of organization-wide communication channels and policies are required (Slack, GSuite, Asana, others as assigned).ย 

  • As part of our Intern Cohorts, all interns will have the opportunity to connect with other interns across the organization for networking opportunities. They will participate in a series of intern cohort discussions, training sessions, and professional development opportunities throughout the summer camp season. Interns will also have the opportunity to showcase their internship experience in an end-of-internship project presentation.
