Summary of Purpose: This position is responsible for performing tasks related to the interscholastic program and assisting the Athletic Director in coordinating, facilitating supervising programs that help to achieve the School District's objectives by promoting standards of excellence.
Functions
  • Adhere to and functions under the constitution and the by-laws of the PIAA and enforces the policies of the Lancaster-Lebanon League and the School District.
  • Coordinate game preparation as game manager to assigned interscholastic contests which could include junior high football games, junior high volleyball games, junior basketball games, junior high wrestling matches, and junior track and field meets.
  • Maintain effective crowd control.
  • Coordinate emergency responses during assigned events.
  • Set up and tear down fields for assigned sporting events.
  • Perform other tasks as appropriate.

Scope and Impact: This position accomplishes most of its tasks through diversified operating procedures. Internal contacts include the Board and district employees. External contacts include outside organizations, parents and the community.
Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience with athletics is preferred.
Special Skills: Strong athletic, leadership and organizational skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills always using tact and diplomacy. Confidentiality is essential. Able to deal with emergency/crisis situations at game events.
Physical/Mental/Environmental:
  • Physically active, standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Occasional bending, crouching, twisting, reaching and grasping. Some lifting, up to 35 pounds
  • Able to receive and deliver detailed information through written and oral communications
  • Able to function at a high level in a fast-paced work environment
  • Able to work 1-on-1, in small groups and in large groups of students and colleagues.
  • Able to observe and manage individuals in multiple school settings
