Job description

Seeking highly motivated sports oriented manager for mostly night shifts. With knowledge of sports and restaurant operations.

The Manager oversees evening operations during high-energy shifts and major sporting events. You will manage front-of-house and back-of-house teams, maintain a lively atmosphere, and ensure top-tier guest service. This role requires quick problem-solving, strong leadership during peak game-day rushes, and strict adherence to alcohol service regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Shift & Game-Day Management

  • Supervise evening staff and assign detailed closing duties.
  • Manage audio-visual systems to ensure correct game broadcasts.
  • Oversee dining room floor, bar, and kitchen operations.
  • Optimize seating arrangements and wait times during major games.
  • Resolve guest complaints and service issues immediately.

Financial Duties

  • Balance cash drawers and safe drops nightly.
  • Reconcile evening sales and generate shift reports.
  • Monitor labor costs by cutting staff strategically.
  • Audit inventory usage and minimize food waste.

Compliance & Safety

  • Enforce local liquor laws and strict identification checks.
  • Maintain a safe environment by managing intoxicated patrons.
  • Secure the building, set alarms, and lock doors.
  • Document any workplace incidents or customer accidents.

Team Leadership

  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to review evening game schedules.
  • Train evening staff on high-volume service standards.
  • Motivate team members during intense, fast-paced rushes.
  • Mediate conflict between employees calmly and fairly.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of bartending, previous management experience is a plus.
  • Certifications: ServSafe Manager and local alcohol server certification required.
  • Skills: Proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Schedule: Full flexibility for late nights, weekends, and game days.
  • Physical: Ability to stand for 8+ hours and lift 50 lbs.
