Job Overviewย
Nonprofit Administrationย interns gain practical, hands-onย experienceย inย aย nonprofitย setting. Thisย is a unique internship for those seeking experienceย withย project management, recruitment,ย grant requirements,ย volunteerย coordination,ย andย financialย management.ย The Nonprofit Administration internย will be part of a larger team that provides support to other areas of the organization as needed.ย This internship position is unpaid, but interns will receive a $500 stipend to help cover costs related to the internship (food, housing, transportation), and college credit can be earned.ย This internship is to be completed in person, not virtually.ย
The NPA intern will be trainedย inย various tasks and proceduresย toย support the Financial and Administrative team.ย Theyย will contribute to projects and recurring tasksย forย finance,ย humanย resources,ย volunteerย coordination,ย Connectionsย programย & mailingย support,ย communityย engagement,ย as well as general administrativeย day-to-dayย duties.ย Collaborating across departments, the intern will takeย the lead on coordinating intern recruitment and hiring for the following semester.ย ย
This in-person internship will run from August 31st, 2026, through December 18th, 2026, and will have aย mandatoryย orientation onโฏThursday, August 27th,โฏfrom 9:00am-2:00pm at the Family Futuresโ office. This internship can also be extended into the next internship period for a second semester. If interested in a longer internship period, please reach out to the hiring manager.ย
Family Futures employees, volunteers, and internsย serve as spokespersons and champions of Family Futures in the communities we serve. A position at Family Futures may entailย the following: the use of a personal vehicle,ย lifting ofย boxes (roughly 25 lbs.), as well as attendance of community events outside of regularly scheduledย hours. Roles and Responsibilitiesย
- Gaining knowledge of the general principles of nonprofit administrationย
- Office management supportย
- Volunteer management support including planning and data organizationย
- Creating and modifying documents using Microsoft Officeย
- Inputting and analyzing data in various online platforms and spreadsheets, including confidential informationย
- Run and properly store background checks for staff, interns, volunteers, etc.ย ย
- Internship Program Support- Recruit and hire next semester's interns, collaborate with other departments on their internship needsย
- Assisting with email managementย
- Assisting with financial managementย
- Assisting with special projectsย
- Collaborating across departments with interns, staff, and volunteersย
Required Qualificationsย
- Currentย collegeย student or recent graduateย
- Experience or interest in nonprofit management, administration, or other relevant fieldsย ย
- Ability to work independently and as part of a teamย
- Strong written and verbal communications skillsย
- Strong Microsoft Office skillsย
- Detail-orientedย and organizedย
- Effective time management and organizationย
- Ability to maintain confidentialityย
- Ability to work autonomouslyย
- Able to meet deadlinesย ย
- Ability to work at least 15ย hours per weekย
