Forklift Operator/ Material Handler

Description

General Responsibilities

  • Work safely at all times
  • Remove shipped products from delivery vehicles into designated storage areas.
  • Inventory items received or shipped and check against packing lists, recording any discrepancies, shortages, or damages on shipping reports.
  • Pull stored materials for orders and move to shipping area.
  • Perform repetitive work to load products, parts or material into designated packages, boxes, crates, or other receptacles. Work with cardboard, paper, plastic, or other materials to pack containers.
  • Track items placed into containers and review packing lists to ensure all required items are included.
  • Operate a forklift for moving or stacking materials when needed.
  • Perform the job duties of the receiving and shipping departments.

The ideal candidate for this role will bring demonstrated success in warehouse experience as well as having acquired the following qualifications and experiences.

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required; additional education or certifications highly preferred.
  • Forklift experience
  • Ability to work with RF scanning device, computer, and other electronic equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and occasional Saturdays.
  • Knowledge of the D365 system and windows application preferred but not required.
  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to stand for 8 - 10 hours per day.
  • Physically capable of completing the essential functions of the job including but not limited to pushing/pulling, climbing/balancing, stooping/bending, reaching/grasping, heavy lifting/carrying up to 75 pounds.
