Description

SAIC is seeking an IT Trainer for the Joint Expeditionary Command and Control (JEXC2) program based out of Panama City, FL.
The qualified candidate will support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division, providing IT support to expeditionary military systems.
This position requires an IAT Level II baseline certification, e.g., CompTIA Security+, prior to hire.
Job Responsibilities:

  • IT technical training of C4I systems to military, government, and contractor users
  • Lead Systems and Networks training for classes of 15 to 20 personnel
  • Frequent travel to US military bases and ships and government worksites, both CONUS and OCONUS
  • Creating and maintaining training materials and curriculum and various other documentation
  • Work on deployable IT systems that communicate over satellite
  • Communicate effectively with end users via phone, email, chat, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues in timely manner according to mission guidelines
  • Installation of new hardware or software 
  • Creating and managing user accounts
  • Maintaining computer systems such as servers and databases
  • May include light programming or scripting to make the system workflows easier

Requirement for Operation and Maintenance support is typically 5 days a week for each C4I FoS fielded system. Work hours in excess of 40 hours per week per person may be required during contingency operations (deployments or exercises), an alternate work schedule may be required to support 24/7 operations. Typical core hours are 0800 to 1700.
 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors and 2 years’ experience. (4 years’ experience accepted in lieu of degree)
  • Security+ certification
  • IAT Level II or above Certification in addition to Security+ or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

Required Skills:

  • Ability to lead training for classes of 15 – 20 personnel
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience working in a Linux environment
  • Familiarity with Windows Server
  • Understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and other Windows Roles and Features related to Enterprise services
  • Experience with virtualization, i.e. vmWare and ESXi
  • Demonstrated experiences with networking technologies
  • Experience in a Systems Administrator or Network Administrator role
  • Military service a plus

Required Clearance:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. A minimum of an Interim Secret clearance will be required prior to first day of employment
