Job description

Do you have creativity to design and fit-out our Data Center or the desire to travel domestically and internationally? We are looking for a high-energy and self-motivated Data Center Design Engineer to lead projects and guide cross-functional teams to meet Infrastructure Design requirements along with scheduling goals. As a Data Center Infrastructure Design Engineer you will work closely with our Data Center Electrical, Mechanical & Structural Engineers to maximize our data center spaces (data halls) to ensure they are efficient for our site teams.
Our Data Center Infrastructure Design Engineering team is responsible for creating, designing or modifying designs for our infrastructure. We are looking for a strong, enthusiastic Engineer that has extensive knowledge in Mechanical and Data Center Infrastructure Designs to join our Infrastructure Engineering Team.
Description
This individual will work closely with our with our construction, design and internal Engineering teams to publish and implement construction drawings and specifications of products we use within our spaces. In addition, this individual will work closely with vendors to develop products based off our requirements. Having an understanding of data center infrastructure and industry standards is crucial.","responsibilities":"Maintain accurate records/versions of design work and ensure they meet quality standards.
Provide project timelines and update reports to internal & external stakeholders.
Create structured cabling packages and ensure implementation of our designs. These designs will be implemented using Telecommunications and Electrical Standards.
Work closely with our network architects through various stages of the design process to understand their structured cabling and electrical requirements.
Engage with operational teams that include Site Services and Facility Engineers to review documentation handovers.
Work closely with external vendors & suppliers to meet our demand which includes product availability, product changes and ensuring quotes are submitted and supplies are accounted for.
Responsible for creating bill of materials (BOM), Scopes of Work (SOW) and installation drawings for new projects.
Working with construction team to support new projects along with managing contractors directly.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent organizational, written and verbal communications skills
Knowledge of data centers
Project Management experience
Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure standards
Ability to maintain records of design work (as builds)
Strong understanding of network environments
Ability to navigate AutoCAD Software
Ability to create and manipulate CAD 2D & 3D models for use
Proven success in team environments demonstrating shared responsibility and accountability with other team members
Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and can make decisions quickly and independently, under tight deadlines
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Construction Management or similar or equivalent experience
5+ years of structured cabling infrastructure (OSP/ISP)
Experience working with low voltage power
Ability to travel domestic and internationally to various colocation across the globe
