Job description

Position Title:Systems & Infrastructure Engineer IIIDepartment:Information SystemsJob Description:

The Systems & Infrastructure Engineer III is a subject matter expert who leads implementations of the datacenter, server and storage environments for all centralized and/or facility equipment, and provides operational and engineering support, including image archive and disaster recovery. The senior system engineer designs, documents, and implements server, desktop, storage, and other datacenter technologies and processes and ensures division and facility-based systems adhere to security, user access and configuration policies. This position works very closely with other corporate, division and facility technical personnel to coordinate the implementation and ongoing support of systems physically hosted at the division data center and facility locations. The Systems Engineer, Infrastructure III also provides support for problem management escalations which cannot be resolved by the service desk or other technical analysts.

Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.

  • Leads the design and architecture of secure and scalable VSI solutions for the entire enterprise

  • Design, development, implementation and support of the VSI environment

  • Manages data collection, reporting, and trending for critical devices and components

  • Participates in, and leads as needed, technical implementation projects and initiatives

  • Assess emerging industry trends; anticipate and develop strategic solutions

  • Provides Tier III support for all infrastructure components

  • Makes technical decisions regarding the configuration of IT solutions. Depending on scope some decisions will require collaboration and approval by the Supervisor or Director depending upon severity.

  • Perform data analysis of complex systems and ensuring the ongoing optimization of those systems.

  • Coordinates installation of new equipment, technologies and processes for projects.

  • Mentor and guides other team members

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

Experience Requirements:

  • 5 or more years of relevant experience required.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

  • Advanced certification obtained within 2 years of hire required such as VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization, VMware Certified Advanced Professional - Data Center Virtualization Design or VMware Certified Advanced Professional - Data Center Virtualization Deploy

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:

  • Strong experience with enterprise infrastructure including the configuration and management of hypervisors, backup platforms, and storage devices.

  • Ability to solve/troubleshoot the most complex problems.

  • Creative thinking and the ability to be agile.

  • Expert ability to complete data analysis of complex systems

  • Ability to collaborate with others within the business including IT and Clinical team members.
